Does anyone have anything further they want to do before or on the trip?

There will be places to eat where the boat stops each night, so you'll have food.

Seeing none, I will advance the campaign to Frostcove.

I for one like the DM to move the game anytime he sees it fit.

Me too, but I want the lower minds to do it. Hahaha, it can't be Flowdy's idea, he is too intelligent. He would preffer shuting himself up into a library and read everything about the town history.
But he has no grudge agains common people, he is gentle with them and value them.
But their damn gosships and rumours...
Edit: Remember this is not the mine town, we still have to travel there by road.

Remember this is not the mine town, we still have to travel there by road.
It is still the nearest town though, right?
BTW I just realised that we don't know the name of the king or the spymistress or a bunch of other background stuff. IC I've called Von Pinn a Royal Inquisitor as a title given that she's in service to the royal line. If there are different titles then let me know or I'll just run with it.

Spoiler
Hook and Plug for an RPG I'd like to run. I'll start off with the Sixteen Questions, then add anything else important after.
1. What game system are you running (D&D, Call of Cthulu, Palladium, GURPS, etc.), and if applicable what edition (Original, Classic, Revised, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 10th, etc.)?
D&D 3.5 Ed. All material in the SRD is fair game (except maybe psionics, haven't decided if I want to use them). Other classes, spells, etc, are available on a case-by-case basis. If you want to use them, send me a description. Oh, and the Champion is in.
2. What 'type' or variant of game will it be (i.e. "Shadow Chasers" or "Agents of Psi" for d20 Modern)? What is the setting for the game (eg. historic period, published or homebrewed campaign setting, alternate reality, modern world, etc.)?
This is intended to be a high fantasy campaign, set in a generic fantasy realm of no particular significance.
3. How many Players are you looking for? Will you be taking alternates, and if so, how many?
4-6 players would be ideal. Alternates are acceptable, if that means what I think it means.
4. What's the gaming medium (OOTS, chat, e-mail etc.)?
This is a PbP game.
5. What is the characters' starting status (i.e. experience level)?
All characters start at first level.
6. How much gold or other starting funds will the characters begin with?
Characters start with 100 gold of cash and equipment if independent, or 300 if in service (see below for further explanation).
7. Are there any particular character classes, professions, orders, etc. that you want... or do not want? What are your rules on 'prestige' and/or homebrewed classes?
All material in the SRD is fair game (except maybe psionics, haven't decided if I want to use them). Other classes, spells, etc, are available on a case-by-case basis. If you want to use them, send me a description. Oh, and the Champion is in.
8. What races, subraces, species, etc. are allowed for your game? Will you allow homebrewed races or species? 'Prestige' races or species?
This is intended to be kind of a human-centered world. I don't mandate you play humans, but you'll attract a lot of attention if you don't.
9. By what method should Players generate their attributes/ability scores and Hit Points?
32-point point buy for attributes. HP is maxed on the first die, average after that. Even levels are low, odds are high.
10. Does your game use alignment? What are your restrictions, if so?
Alignment does exist in this game, and may have some impact on the mechanics, but I'm not going to be using my codes here. Note that I won't penalize you for acting outside your alignment, but I might decree that your alignment changes if you do that a lot.
11. Do you allow multi-classing, or have any particular rules in regards to it?
Multi-classing is great!
12. Will you be doing all of the die rolling during the course of the game? Will die rolls be altered, or left to the honor system? If players can make die rolls, which ones do they make, how should they make the rolls, and how should they report them?
Players can make their own dice rolls in their posts. And yes, this is the honor system.
13. Are there any homebrewed or optional/variant rules that your Players should know about? If so, list and explain them, or provide relevant links to learn about these new rules.
As mentioned in the title, there is a new species that will enter the world during this campaign. However, it is NPC-only (at least to start out) and learning what it is is a major part of the campaign, so no spoilers here.
Also, I'm considering removing XP costs for spells and scribing scrolls (I don't much like that system). I also won't pay much attention to focuses and material costs except for really big spells.
14. Is a character background required? If so, how big? Are you looking for anything in particular (i.e. the backgrounds all ending up with the characters in the same city)?
Character backgrounds are preferred, at least a couple of paragraphs. All backgrounds should have the characters be in the capital for some reason. Also, if you want your character to be in service (explained below), you should explain how you came to be in service.
15. Does your game involve a lot of hack & slash, puzzle solving, roleplaying, or a combination of the above?
This is intended primarily as a mystery game, with heavy roleplaying and a fair amount of combat.
16. Are your Players restricted to particular rulebooks and supplements, or will you be allowing access to non-standard material? What sources can Players use for their characters?
All material in the SRD is fair game (except maybe psionics, haven't decided if I want to use them). Other classes, spells, etc, are available on a case-by-case basis. If you want to use them, send me a description. Oh, and the Champion is in.
Special notes: Service
As mentioned above, characters have the option of starting the game in the employ of the Royal Spymistress (also the reigning king's aunt). This lady has long found it prudent to employ teams of adventurers to act as special agents when faced with problems her nephew's official armies can't easily handle.
Being in service means that you have to follow orders (and can be executed if you don't), but very few people can give you these orders and they will tend to be pretty open-ended. Being in service also gives the following advantages:
1. Extra supplies: You get 300 gp of cash and gear instead of 100. Also, wizards start play with two extra spells scribed in their spellbook and will often have access to royal magic archives, granting them easy access to new spells.
2. Salary. Characters in service draw 5 sp per level per day when actively on duty, and the same amount weekly when off duty. These funds can be redeemed at any bank.
3. Crown Support. When on active duty, you can get free food and shelter at any inn, tavern, or other place of business by showing them your service token or your credentials (you start play with both) and signing off for the expense. You can also sometimes do this for gear or services. (Don't get carried away, though. Your boss knows what you are charging.)
4. Legal Authority. You have the authority to arrest people, request information or aid from the local authorities, and poke your nose in just about anywhere. You will also have a much better chance of not getting arrested if you get into a fight or otherwise seem to have broken the law.

The reigning king is His Majesty Jason One-Shoe, and the spymistress's name is Natalia Lackless. The kingdom itself is Scadriel.

Suddenly a thought crosses Flowdy's mind "You were very fast in attacking this thing Seric... and it certainly looked like he knew you... this isn't your fault, right? RIGHT?"
Note Seric's complete lack of an answer to this. I actually missed it the first time but on a reread I decided not to respond. A denial might be viewed as an admission and, who knows, perhaps some priestly order is experimenting on people.

Yeah I edited it in. Anyway Seric's reaction by ignoring it is perfectly fitting.
Flowdy said it half-joking, but only HALF. He has been enought time arround Seric to actually believe her if she just turned arround and said "It was me, not of your business." or something like that.
But he was said it in the way people who trust each other also joke about what the other are capable of without directly accuse each other.
I don't know If I explain it correctly.

I've just had a thought. We've seen how it reacts to divine magic. How do you fancy hitting it with some arcane magic to see what happens?
You're welcome to try and find out!

For my party members: ****ing prisoner's dilemma, slowing the games every ****ing time.
PLEASE let's just keep the guy to the mines and lock him up there.
Why? Because as an evil PC you dan't care if he lives or not, as a neutral PC you don't care if he lives or not, but as a good PC you care.
So instead of killing him and having a good argument about killing innocent defensless people, let's just roll with it and move.
You, as an evil or neutral guy, don't do anything wrong letting him live. Me as a good guy do something wrong if I let you kill him.
Could we move to the mines with him? Pretty please?

Fine by me but he's your responsibility. I'm actually curious to try experimenting on him a bit more. Maybe different schools of magic do different things to them. Maybe this is just a visual effect of healing. Also eventually he might let something slip that makes sense. I might regret having a callous disregard for life at this rate.

Are you planning on wrapping him up or hiding him in any way? The messenger would suggest doing so if you didn't think of it.
