Ok so Finally as promised the map for this part of the world... Its pretty huge so it had to go into two pages so forgive any lack of alignment
Spoiler
Top Bottom
Ok as you can see they should match up but its whatevs y'all are smart enough to figure out where it should meet up
As for Inoknownames, I hope he hasn't dropped but if he has I believe we still have others interested if not we will press on without him.
Just letting you know that the maps are not displaying to me on the forum. This is a problem with living in China, not with anything you've done. I can get them to display be copypasting them into a new window, but they're not as convenient as might normally be.
So, we're in the "Fire Sand Waste", at a guess. Annoying.
Sounds pleasant, doesn't it? *twiddles thumbs and whistles*

Lilian is totally immune to enchantments, and also spells that target humanoids (such as Hold Person) rather than outsiders, so I won't be rolling a save.
Also, lol at group 2! I'd have made that assumption as well, but ouch! Will try and remember that trick in future.
You believe that they may be withholding the true intent of their help but you do not believe whatever hidden agenda they have is not hostile. Possibly manipulative but not evil or malicious.
Yeah, I'm sure we'll be pitying them their exhausting social intercourse with Sylvan chippies (gender optional) while we're scraping hand-blown sand out of our eyes and dying for a sip of water.
He's very busy on weekends. I'm sure he'll be back; getting him to shut up is the trick!
Edit: wow, that's the worst I've ever been ninja'd by! Need to learn to scroll all the way down before replying!

NA, the shoe has yet to drop for us. As least you have something tangible. We've got it too good right now, things will change...

Didnt you know, this group gets XP and levels for how much tea nad cookies it consumes. We will be epic by the end of the week
Oh Team Alpha. You're kinda screwed and kinda on top. I cannot wait to dip my hands into the thick of it. Please survive the desert.

Judging by the rate at which the Large sun has moved you estimate that the day is approximately 32 hours long and that night fall would be around 14 hours away.
While the Small sun is roughly 24 hours in it's cycle leaving some room for overlap.

Lilian's not being deliberately obstructive. It had only been a couple of hours until dark then she'd have gone along with general consensus, it's just that what the others are proposing now sounds rather like suicide, and she doesn't think they're in possession of all the facts.
Then she was entirely correct. Starex was suspecting the day would be longer, but had no idea of the time. And frankly, was more worried about the skeles, the tracks and the enchantment.
Oh yes expect many many many obscure details. I pride myself on originality of world building. I dislike the 'it's essentially magic earth.. everything is the same deal with it' kind of setting.
SRD says Medium creatures need a gallon per day, which is about 7.5lbs or 8lbs rounding up. I presume we're only needing 1.5 times rather than 2 or 3 times because we're resting in the shade and trying not to be active?
And a 32hr day is longer as well - I can see us needing 4 gallons of water per day each.
Lilian can only carry 4lbs of water at a time, she's going to be in trouble very shortly...
I normally work in metric, so the litres/gallons thing has only just hit home...
Wow, nearly four litres per day for a medium creature?
I'd struggle to drink a third that much in a day! Ok, I admit an active life might require a bit more, but even in a desert I don't think I could physically drink what the srd recommends for hot environments. That's ten times my daily input!
Also, a gallon weighs about 8lbs, so actually we'd be needing five waterskins each.
The normal day of 24 vs the 32 hours is simple 3/4 vs 4/4 eight hour blocks. So you would only need to add a quart to the standard gallon needed then multiply by 1.5 which equals 7.5 quarts or .5 away from two gallons if you need to be really accurate but that being said.. these numbers are for optimum conditions and you could cut a 1/2 gallon out to conserve water without suffering any negative effects.
Also your very right on the weight but the waterskin is suppose to hold a gallon even though it doesn't match weight wise
- firstly I'd be really unhappy about treating water as magically half weight. Even Create Water has the correct weight.
- secondly, what waterskin do you have that holds a gallon? none of these look that large, and from an adventurer's point of view a half-gallon is far more convenient to carry. Lilian would struggle to carry an additional 4lbs.
- thirdly, I think the srd standard requirement is about twice what it should be, even accounting for being active.
I think it's more consistent all round to halve the amount of water required per day. Seriously, I don't know anyone who drinks more than 2 quarts a day.
Gah... I hate being so busy and missing all the good stuff... I also wonder if I should change one of my languages to Sylvan now, just because it seems like otherwise; the only thing I could say in character is a desire to fight with some of the warriors earlier. To have the ability to mature so quickly and adapt so fast, their fighting styles must be interesting to take on.
Granted, even if Daranthos understood the majority of the conversation that's been spoken in a language he isn't at all fluent in, he'd still be up for a brawl. That's just how he is.
Earlier (if I hadn't missed the chance to), I'd have posted about him not understanding the language, and just having been staring at their arms and equipment, fantasizing about how they battle.
Not very deep... a simple man, with simple tastes. Even if he's civilized enough to be an outcast from that society, he's still got a Goliath's Heart.
TL,DR: Should I change one of my languages to one I wouldn't normally know (I never much understood the autolanguage thing, and I had already selected mine before based on the ones listed for my race), or should I post anyway concerning Daranthos' desire for a fight (which wouldn't be completely irrelevant, since it'd show that at least one member of the party has no qualms about entering battle)?

Eh, facts schmacks! Though it is good to have someone who actually thinks these things through on the team. When there's no one to do that, sometimes half the party gets blasted out an airlock and slowly dies of thirst on an asteroid.
