So I knew Tarith was in combat and only quickly read posts directed at me before dinner, maybe buffing isn't really needed any more...but then again its the first encounter of the day, and near night time so I think Xander will live, unless we find other stuff down here, gonna eat dinner be back in a bit
Well, technically this comes under Tarith's fault...
Meh, random people die around adventurers all the time.
Besides, I am sure Tarith has an excuse, but hopefully, it won't be needed.
Plus no-one on the party can compete with his bluff score. Including him.
Alan, if I set my contingency to cast Teleport with the target of Arrallae temple in Swans Rest if i die, would that be allowed or does the area prevent teleportation.
If it is allowed then If Xander ever dies and it looks like a TPK everyone could touch Xander and get teleported back to Swans Rest, where we could recover and teleport back out afterward...then you could also safely throw harder opponents at us as long as we can protect Swans Rest...of course if I die and teleport there and the place is wiped out then bringing me back would be interesting....
If swans rest is warded, I will probably set it to Silas's Loft as he should be able to figure out how to bring me back.
And it will be blocked from magical transport. Sorry Xander, I made sure of saying that in my list of spells I was going to start experimenting on. That was one of them I was going to place in the seal.
Yea i noticed, alan same rules as before if it is under 16 I just take 10.
Also everyone Dantie is going to be acting like a crazed killing machine refusing to retreat, and never surrendering in the next chapter. Just wanted to give you all a warning of what is to come. He will literally become basically the most vengeful, mericluas killing machine. I suggest if things look bad you grab him and teleport him away because he will not retreat himself.
WEll, Rosalind won't be joining you in Swan's Rest, but she believes she has the atained the mettle and courage to join you and learn more about the world, in the name of Pelo'r church, of course. If, however, you decide to go to Hammerbruk (which I'm positive Tarith will want to go read - $$$$), then someone there might take an interest in the lovely red head.
Tarith if you remember Alan said we know all about the child of the void and such, meaning we know about the mission Bishop was given to get money. So twice as much money. Vs. Chance of dieing? Tarith it seems to me would wait for better information unless they destroyed Nerin in the battle to come. And this Lucian fellow did not show his full strength. Though I suspect Tarith respecting him for his control over his arts of controlling the shadows.
Ah that is what I get for not double checking the new spell...So Tarith, I'm assuming you have had dimension door as a contingent spell on a wizard before...I'm assuming you just have it set for when dead(or do you have at under 15 or something?) dimension door X feet in X direction, but how often do you end up in a object...seeing as I take damage I should probably have it it dimension door me while I'm still alive...
Dantie, seeing as Xander has to cast the spell unless there are prior protections Xander should be able to try to exclude himself, that way even if the seal can't be opened and closed, Xander can teleport people in and out...but mainly us in and out.
Is the next chapter going to revolve around Tarith and Xander being the 3rd and 4th wheels to Dantie and Rosalind's extended date?
er... We have not run into Lucien, as far as I remember, and I really don't remember the child of the void plot line. If I don't remember, I don't think I can say that Tarith remembers.
The issue here is that Tarith may view The Ward as a quick little outing.
Nathan, Contingency is there to save your life, not deal with stuff after you are dead. So, set it to do something that prevents that death. You can set it to teleport in a particular direction, but the safest is up, which means you need a method of flight.
A better method might be a contingent celerity, activated upon 20% health or less.
If the next mission revolves around the romance, Tarith will probably go on a crime spree. Just as a warning.
Forbiddance seals an area against all planar
travel into or within it. This includes all
teleportation spells (such as dimension door
and teleport), plane shifting, astral travel,
ethereal travel, and all summoning spells.
Such effects simply fail automatically.
In addition, it damages entering creatures
whose alignments are different from
yours. The effect on those attempting to
enter the warded area is based on their
alignment relative to yours (see below). A
creature inside the area when the spell is
cast takes no damage unless it exits the
area and attempts to reenter, at which time
it is affected as normal.
Alignments identical: No effect. The creature
may enter the area freely (although
not by planar travel).
Alignments different with respect to either
law/chaos or good/evil: The creature takes
6d6 points of damage. A successful Will
save halves the damage, and spell resistance
Alignments different with respect to both
law/chaos and good/evil: The creature takes
12d6 points of damage. A successful Will
save halves the damage, and spell resistance
At your option, the abjuration can
include a password, in which case creatures
of alignments different from yours
can avoid the damage by speaking the
password as they enter the area. You must
select this option (and the password) at the
time of casting.
Dispel magic does not dispel a forbiddance
effect unless the dispellerís level is at least
as high as your caster level.
You are not getting in Swans rest. I am also covering the whole outside of the place in a wall of dispell magic. Tarith that is possible right? The wall of dispel magic part.
Nope a lot of death and bloodshed. And exploding bodies. Again Dantie going Viking on a lot of people. Smash head in, blast you all to hell. Stomp you under my feet. Climb up your body and smash your nose in then jump down slamming my morning star into your toe bad. Romance will not be a big part. Though crime spree would be fun. I am down for it OOC as long as Dantie does not know.
Dantie, I am afraid that a wall of dispel magic probably won't make much of a difference. You can place it across the entrance, but you can't encircle the entire thing. For that, you would need a dispelling screen, which is a wizard spell. You would also need a very high CL.
I would recommend against going to The Ward, since it's a 1 way trip. If you decide to use Arrallae as an oracle, she may grant you guidance as to what excatly is happening. Xander has yet to reveal what he has read, and even then, there is much to be learned. Steiner knew some parts, but not all.
And no. No romance in Chapter 3. Not between the PCs, at least. I do expect a lot of skull bashing. Again, it depends on what you choose to do.
celerity at 20% defiantly sounds like a better idea, and I do have a method of flight, see my sorcerer spells, we also have chain greater magic weapon and chain keen edge x2 for combat, as I can Augment Cast 3rd lvl spells now.
So when Dantie gets to the city he is going to go to bed unless needed. Will have to change a few spells around for next level to deliver a message to the church unless Tarith continues on his course of action to leave in the morning. In which case Dantie will ask him to tell the church of Pelor what the Morningstar has said. He will also hand some of the holy texts to Xander and keep some for himself using the aid another to make sure they both find out as much as possible about the morning star and seeing if she is the real morning star.
KK then in the morning would tarith have breakfast with the rest of the group? Saying they are staying behind as far as I know. I would suggest getting our rightful pay from the duke. Bluff him for all I care.
@Alan what skills will I need for this to roll for the holy text involving The morning star, Initially I would say religion, but gather info seems like a possibility as well.
