Default Fabletop?

Has anyone here played Fabletop?
It's a cool rules-light d6 online game, where you create your own (or use anothers') battlemat, create a simple character, and play. It's more role-play-based, and the dice are really more for making it work.

For those who have played it: Discuss! What are your favorite/least favorite aspects? When do you play? What genres?

For those who don't: Try it out!

So .... are you Demouser then?

Anyways, it looks neat. My problem with this sort of thing is that I wouldn't ever be able to collect a party of guys to sit down in their respective homes and play online like this.

Now ... if it were turn-based, that might be another thing entirely. For instance, it would be most excellent for my play-by-post game, right here on this forum.

But other then that, it looks like a simple and rather excellent little tool =)

Wait. Fabletop, as in "Fable Tabletop"?

And it's... online?

I guess someone missed the meaning of "tabletop", eh?

In todays busy world, a 'tabletop' can be anywhere your tight schedule of ... doing nothing, sitting on your behind staring at the computer screen, allows. Hence, virtual tabletops are the new black =)

It's not really that bad. Sure, it's not the same as in-person, but for a lot of people, it's a much-needed solution because they're nowhere near a gaming group.

I've had some very rewarding experiences playing RPGs over Google Hangouts, even. It's a great way to try new games, and to game with new people for a little bit, almost like a convention game.
