Default sniper's goggles?

are they only a pathfinder item or were they also a 3.5 item? I found them on the pf site, but can't find them in the MIC. I heard they were based on an earlier 3.5 item. was it hidden away in a different book? does it exist? thanks.

What did the item do? Horizon goggles in the MIC grant far shot to the wearer.
