Requests to adopt an avatar here should be PMed to the artist.
Requests for new avatars should go to the Request an OotS Style Avatar thread.
Avatar artists, please try to keep your avatars confined to one post.
This thread is intended for putting up unclaimed and unused OotS style avatars for others to peruse and potentially claim for their own use. Between the Iron Avatar threads and the fact that artists will create works for practice or just because, there are a number of avatars out there without a home. If you have avatars you'd like to see used and don't have anyone to take it, or if you're looking for a custom avatar and want to look at just claiming one instead of commissioning one, this is the thread for you.
Procedures Putting up for Adoption
If you are an artist and have avatars you'd like to put up for adoption, it's pretty simple. Just make a post with those avatars to this thread! It's best if you make some notes on the particular avatar as well - what it is of, primarily, and if it's from an Iron Avatarist contest or something similar.
A few rules: if someone is already using an avatar you made, don't post it here. Don't post avatars someone else has made. Don't post an avatar here if you don't want someone else to use - there are gallery threads for showing off your work. Simple enough, but keep these factors in mind.
Adopting
If you find an avatar you want to adopt, just PM the artist and ask them! They'll give the OK, and let you know whether you can use the current link or if you need to find some webspace of your own to host it (Photobucket is a great, easy to use, and FREE option). Then you can start using the avatar. Also, please credit the artist in your sig - it's just a nice thing to do.
A few rules: it's preferred you only adopt avatars that you intend to use as avatars; if you want to use it in your sig, you can ask the artist (and must tell them you plan to keep it in your sig), but they can turn you down with no repercussions. Please don't adopt an avatar if you don't plan on posting at least somewhat regularly. Adoption is on a first-come, first-served basis, so it's possible that an avatar has already been claimed and the artist hasn't had a chance to remove it; keep this in mind and don't get too worked up if you come a little too late to grab an avatar.
Post-Adoption
After an avatar has been claimed, the artist should come back here and note in some manner that the avatar has been adopted, or remove the claimed avatar from his or her post.
Returned Avatars
If you find you aren't going to be posting anymore or decide to get a new custom avatar, please consider contacting the artist of your adopted avatar and giving them the option of taking it back. The artist can put it back up for adoption if they want. Of course, the artist can also always choose to let you keep it as well. If you have a commissioned custom avatar that you decide to stop using, you can return it so the artist can put it up for adoption as well.

Help y'selves. Feel free to resize or -shape them if need be, or let me know and I'll do it. Please tell me when you take one so I can take it down, so other people don't get their hopes up. Also tell me if you already have it - there's a few that I made ages ago that I haven't seen around. If you don't sign in for, say, several months, I may take an avatar back. I will send a PM notifying you if I do so, though, and you'll probably get it back if you want it.
Also, my Photobucket gallery if you want a look. Things can be tweaked and/or made avatarable. Pardon the mess. Characters
If you want any of the avatars below, a single pm will suffice. If you have an avatar from me, but you don't use it anymore, drop me a pm as well, and I'll try to find it a new home.
* Check the dimensions of the image when you are setting it as your avatar. Some of them may not be the default 117 x 117.
** Could anyone who has one of my avatars that you don't want to use anymore please return them to me. If you are using the avatar in your sig or you want to use it sporadically in one of your games, that's fine, you may hang on to it. However if you really don't intend to use an avatar anymore, please let me know so I can find it a new home.

#2. If possible, please host the avatar you pick on your own site. Mine doesn't seem to be having a problem so far, but not sure how much it'll take.

Note: Only one person can adopt a package. Done so that people don't have "twin" avatars.
