Lightbulb The Battle for Erfworld

Previously covered in a thread titled "Erfworld: Battle for Wesnoth", I would like to announce that plans for a game set in the Erfworld universe have been laid.

The Battle for Erfworld, http://battleforerfworld.net-fu.org, will be a comprehensive and carefully planned and executed campaign using an open source turn-based strategy game platform called Battle for Wesnoth (http://www.wesnoth.org/). At this time it is undecided if The Battle for Erfworld will be retelling the tale of "The Battle for Gobwin Knob" or if it will instead just be set in the Erfworld universe, but in either case you should expect to find the same zany units, a (hopefully) similar style of comedy, and a branching and detailed plotline.

I am already gathering requests to join the development team, so if you'd like to join in, we've got space and we've got need! Visit the forums (http://battleforerfworld.net-fu.org/forum/) to sign up. We need all kinds of people: writers, scripters, artists, mapmakers, unit builders, PR people, sound artists, composers, you name it.

Thank you!

Yes, it should have. If it doesn't come soon, tell me and I'll switch it to use the SMTP host to mail instead of PHP's mail() command.

Thanks everyone! I'll see you there.

I got the email and have registered. The delay was probably down to the spam router I use.

We could still use a good deal more help. I'm hoping to have at least six team members before the 1st, and I last I counted we are at four or five.

Anyone else interested?

Also - if you sign up on the forums and would like to help, make sure you say so. Read the announcements for more details. A number of people have registered but have not indicated they would like to be a part of the team. That's fine, but I worry they might be missing out.

Hmmm remind me again why the different groups are hidden? Would it not make more sense to have them open for all to drop in and contribute?

That's a good point. Time for me to fix that.

I only check here once every few days, now, though I check the project forum several times a day.
