I'm also a college student, and I know at least two other people on the same campus who have accounts, including my roommate. I don't know exactly how the IP adress thing works, but for the record, Woot Spitum, Hzurr, and jjpickar are three different people.

Serpentine and I live together and use each other's computers quite a bit for posting, thought that it couldn't hurt to make sure there's no mistaking us for alts etc.
Just curious- what are some these abuses stemming from alts? I never go into the Town, so I wouldn't know about that.
Hmm... only things I can think of are people padding the votes in the Contest section, and people playing more than one character at once in the PbP section.
The first group is just really, really... sad. And the second group just makes me sort of blink *imagines a six-person party actually all controlled by a single person*

I think it is more to do with banned people creating new accounts to circumvent their banning?

Before I made this account I tried to make an account that didn't work, the e-mail wouldn't send (after trying EVERYTHING) so I gave up and made a new one. So, my old (non-functional) one is called DMincarnate (maybe DMIncarnate ?) and my new (current one) is purple_smurf.
right... good thing I checked the board issues forum today or else I might have missed this one. The alt accounts that I have are Pinky and Brain, Aniqua, and one more that I can't remember. Shippo* is my brother and Aribin* is currently living with us. My alt accounts can be merged but I would like Jacklu to remain my main account.

I just saw this post. "Cykessa" is my account. "Accolon" is my husband's account. We have more than one computer in the house, but we share them. They also use the same wireless modem and network. (I have no idea how an IP address works, so I don't know if this matters.)
Please do not ban us. If you have to ban one of us, ban me please. my husband logs on a lot more than I do.

Some people have requested that a mod _close_ their account for a set period of time when they needed a barrier between themselves and posting temptation and/or to demonstrate that commitment to parental units; a "Closed Account" can be re-opened later, although I don't know how one would get in contact and request it. . . .The practice sprung up recently, probably before you randomized, but randomizing isn't necessary any more.
I have a former account that I couldn't access anymore due to password issues, which led to the creation of this one. I've never used the two concurrently, and it wasn't an attempt at ban evasion, but I guess something should be done so that it isn't eating up memory.
Obviously, I can't post in the supplemental thread. Am I out of luck for getting it merged/erased?
