Possible option for Elan? *Plot speculation spoiler*

Thread title I wanted to use but there was no way to spoiler it from the giant: Could he use Halley as a Weapon?

Since petrified people seem pretty resistant to harm, at least from falling damage, could Elan safely use Halley as a weapon? Maybe toss her into a hard surface above Nale or Sabine to crush or pin one?

I think it's a little small to do much damage..

But if Elan flung her into a hard surface above Nale or Sabine, the ceeling or a high point on a wall for example, her statue would return to full normal size. And a human sized rock statue would weigh quite a fair bit.

And the ceelia example shows that the statues can take a great deal of abuse without damaging the petrified person, so it would be unlikely to harm halley in the process.

I very much doubt that throwing his gf at the enemy OR onto a solid object above her will occur to Elan because its his gf and he is a little stressed. It certainly wouldn't occur to me, either as a person or playing a character.

I am curious, who or what is this "Halley" you are speaking of? As far as I'm aware, the only "miniature" in Elan's possession is Haley. Or does he have a bag full of petrified, shrunken girlfriends?

That's a clever idea, which means it won't occur to Elan.

But more seriously, Elan won't do it because even if he takes one of them out and escapes, it will mean leaving his petrified girlfriend in the other's hands since he would then have no means of carrying her to Durkon. (Unless he has a BoH too like she does?)

He DOES have very high charisma.

OMG! I was reading about how many spells Elan has and I found out this comic:

He knows the spell "Greater Dispell Magic". He can turn Haley back to flesh!!

Were he not dumb or had V told him to do so (guess he forgot as he was in the scene as well and should know that) he could easily make it a fair match.

Elan needs a moment to shine. So it'd be awesome if he'd defeat both Nale and Sabine at the same time and went back to rescue the day*.

* Preferably by crashing in through a window.

Good catch - but on the other hand, I'm not sure GDM can remove FtS. (It would depend on whether Remove Curse could remove FtS.)

On the other hand, his knowing that spell is definitely a Chekov's Gun from the Giant.

I don't think it can. The description of Remove Curse in online sources is pretty vague. As best I can tell, it can only reverse the effect of a Bestow Curse.

FtS is instantaneous, so GDM should not be able to reverse it.

Perhaps, but Sabine draining a level from Elan may prevent him from using it, at least for this battle.

It would be a good tactic, but it would require the ability too make good us of tactics. This is NOT what Elan is know to excel at.

He's had encounters since then, maybe he also learned some self buffs, Displacement and Haste and magic Vestments would be hugh for him right now, and Cat's Grace, Bears endurance and Eagles Splendor would all be helpful.

Or perhaps he's leveled again since the last time it was mentioned, and learned another level or two of dashing swordsman, gaining him some new ability's. Gain Cha too AC, DR, Saving throws, Skill checks, or as Temp hit points or some other useful bonus or ability that Nale doesn't know the class gives him which will throw an utter monkey wrench in his plans.
