Is it bad that I have twice as many de-motivators as motivators?
Are you trying to be evil?

I'm not sure I want to even count mine, especially since some of the ones I have under "motivators" are arguably de-motivators (e.g. "Confidence") or just... odd (e.g. "Metafanservice").
Anyhow, I went with a Jillian action collage instead - after all, she really is a barbarian. And a real badboop with an unrealistically oversized weapon, too.
It will be a terrible thing if I start giving Jillian a thick accent.
Ha! That "Morale" one makes me laugh whenever I see it. Win!
Thanks. I think what makes it is that the one thing that makes it a demotivator (instead of a somewhat inane motivator) is the image in combination with its original context.

Wanda's face in that panel reminds me of a scene that recurs sometimes in Warner Bros. cartoons - when a character gets hit by a huge dose of savage irony (e.g. the goal he's desperately been trying to accomplish for the entire clip has become moot), just before completely flipping out and being hauled off by Men In White Coats.

I think that applies to a lot of the motivators & demotivators. Unless they just look silly (like the lolerfs) or refer to other pop-culture ideas (AYB, Princess Bride), they're funny to us mostly because we know what the characters are actually doing in the picture, and we internally contrast that with the added text or subtext. (Imitating a motivational poster is automatic subtext.) It's just more obvious in some cases than in others.
I could go off further on my theories about humor, but maybe this thread isn't the right place. And nothing kills a joke faster than analyzing it.... Oops.

There's just a 12-minute difference between our posts, too. Were you working on that already, or are you really that fast?

I'm just that fast.
Though I already knew about the quote--that's the only reason I did it, actually. So I didn't have to spend any time thinking about what the text of the image would be.

I stole the text for the first one from the Demotivators website. The second one is all my own.
Spoiler
It should read 'Power corrupts. Absolute power is kinda neat.'

"Mourn if you must, but mourn on the march to Tarmon Gai'don."
"Trollocs coming! Up axes and clear the fields! Trollocs coming!"
I have to admit though, most of these aren't terribly demotivational... For example, the one DGM spoilered (Outside) would be a better demotivator if its legend were something like "Futility - If you don't have the tools to do the job right, sometimes it's better not to do anything at all."
It's tough to work out a really good demotivator though, because the best will have referents not only in Erf, but also in the real world's motivational posters. And don't get me wrong, even the ones (most of these) which I don't consider to be real demotivators are still amusing and clever juxtapositions of text and images - they're just not demotivational.

What, like this?
(My dialect/accent is probably off. And it should have been "a zwei". But you get the idea.)
