Beh. I have a theory that all major stereotypical cities in the world (being New York, Paris, London and Tokyo...with perhaps the Sydney Opera House thrown in for good measure) are all the same city. Viewing certain movies (i.e. those with made-up cities or just "The Big City") has confirmed this. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get plane tickets to "The Big City." Despite having all those skyscrapers and tourist attractions, it must not have an international airport.
So you can mistake the LA or NYC or Rome or London or Paris skylines one for another? Naaaaaah! Not on your nelly mate, the local architecture's always distinct and different. Ditto the taste in skyscrapers. Ditto the road layout and the interaction built environment with parklands, planted trees, gardens, etc.
You could mistake Paris and Vienna maybe. Budapest, Cracow and Prague maybe. Ditto Luebeck, Bruges and Copenhagen. Ditto most cities in Germany. Most of the interchangeable skyscraper burgs in the Americas and Asia you can definitely chop and change at will. Eastern Bloc architecture has the same universally meretricious taint wherever it's thrown up.
Immaterial anyway. All reasonable people agree that the entire world outside the UK is imaginary.

And so are many inside there, why am I the only person who has been to Birmingham?

Because of the simple question: "What reason is there to go to Birmingham?"
The NEC ... errr ... Cadbury World ... errr ... geeky industrial history stuff ... errr ... I'm afraid I don't need any guns made or machine tools fabricated.
Anyone willing to step up and defend the honour of the second city of England (Yes, it is! Shut up and sit down you Manks ). Someone has to fight the corner for the famous home of the Lunar Men and former Workshop of the World? Sure, it ain't a northern city (York, Durham, Newcastle, Edinburgh), but it must have some merits.
Birmingham? I've heard of that. Isn't it a two-hour drive away from Atlantis? ^_^
Your bizarre obsession with driving a metal can in a city that is entirely submerged in water disturbs me.
Besides, Atlantis is a massive spaceship anyway.
Atlantis is in our minds, much like the afore mentioned Birmingham or an anime character with normal hair

Anyway, everyone knows that. The fact is still that it is underwater and populated with Elves.
Birmingham or Atlantis?

So? My disturbinosity is so cool I'm goddamn freezing.
Wait, that's the air conditioning. Damnit.
Edit: Moon, I think you are thinking of YOURSELF. Different things, you and blood.
You're not disturbing, your funny. Take this from somene who belives they are becoming disturbed. Literally, im a good shouting at away from a mental break down. Not a hyperbole, there seriously is something wrong *Twitch*

So...that big empire you were so proud of was just a delusion of your own minds? And nobody bothered to put your whole country in one of those inside-out insane asylums?

Yep. Don't you know that you can draw an almost direct historical correlation between amount of laudanum, opiates and such consumed in the UK and the size of the British Empire? We set our greatest poets and thinkers to imagine an empire of the senses wherein the British could explore aspects of themselves they could not in the real world (ie: Britain). The result: the formless fog of protomatter that surrounds our isles was temporarily coalesced into the world beyond our borders.

Yours is little?
Wimp.
Also, I had a peek at my own profile. I disgust me. 13.55 posts a day? What the hell do I DO for a living? That's with, like, a month of collected weeklong absences. I sicken me.
I have no idea. I've tried to eat you, but my zombie friend refuse to bite me and I don't know where you live! Chock full of iron and sexy, though.
... Sure, Dee. I beleive you.
Well, I beleive that you tried to have zombie freind bite you, but hey. Zombies are cute.

Yours tells you to kill? Lucky. Mine tells me to do stupid things, like break an airplane window to see if it's double paned - while in flight. Or jump in front of a car to gauge how fast it's going.
So...that big empire you were so proud of was just a delusion of your own minds? And nobody bothered to put your whole country in one of those inside-out insane asylums?
...Haven't you watched Johny English?
And by the by, us Aussies like to humour those old Brits, they still send us lovely Christmas hampers.

But surely the UK is just a fairy tale to convince young Americans that things could be worse. After all, I have never been there, thus it must not exist.

Whereas I *have* been to the nebulous ghost realm of bloodhungry shadow demon that is America. It was a scorching, humid wasteland of swamps, alligators, excessive hairspray and giant anthropomorphic farm animals. The garbled honking noises the poor shadowy inhabitants made in pathetic imitation of real human speech would be risible were they not so pitiful.
(Florida: obviously the result of a very bad trip by some poor opium fiend shivering and moaning in the lowest Limehouse dive)

Which you don't bother opening until summer, ingrates!
(yes, I know...)
Well, winters to bloody cold you know? We can't get to the post office in 15 degree Celsius heat, we need to wait until it's at least 30.
Also, it takes you all winter to send it anyway...
