Re: Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic, by Rich Morris
Yes. I think there may have already been a thread about it here. The author manages to make the sketchy, unfinished look work. I liked that the "Rules of Love" he recently quoted are genuine.
PS: Doctor Who fans should check out the "other toons by Rich" link on his site...

The good outweighs the bad in this strip I'd say. For anyone who likes OOTS and doesn't mind the adult themes, I think it's definitely worth a read (I went through the entire series after I found and read a couple of strips). Not as exceptional as OOTS, but rather good nonetheless.
Re: Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic, by Rich Morris
Not to mention there is a new one almost every day.
Scetchy or not, its still good. And if you crank out a comic every day, I dont mind having them not inked.
Re: Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic, by Rich Morris
I think it's a very good comic. It's funny, it's quite good at longer story arcs, and it has good variety so that no character steals the spotlight for long (indeed, it doesn't seem to have a "main" character any more). It has some highly original characters, like Bob the Beholder's family, and it does the "evil, from their eyes" bit better than the Goblins comic does. And, a good point for a webcomic (imho) is that it has an excellent track record of getting a new post every day.
I give it eight Sticks out of ten. OOTS would get the full ten by definition, 8-bit is a seven at the moment (although this varies with time), CAD gets zero, and DD is somewhere in the negatives. While it's probably not safe for work because of the occasional boobies, I wouldn't call it "adult content" really.

I think I know what you mean with the "evil is kewl" thing, which I find equally annoying (although I like many fictional villains.) But how does this apply to Arachne? She got pretty royally pwned, losing the King of Drostardy AND Clover, who are now happily married to each other. And Arachne was dumped by Princess Dewcup! She has had a lot of humiliations and setbacks.
I am a big fan of YAFGC, I'd say it's second only to OOTS in overall quality and I eagerly look forward to the daily updates.

Yes, the moment when it turned out that king of Drostardy doesn't give a damn about Arachne was preety humilating to her, but that's just once- and through the rest of the comic we see Arachne constantly owning someone or otherwise. Well, maybe I'm exagerrating here, but I got that impression. Still, the rest of the comic is preety good.

Just discovered this comic via this thread, I think it's really good so far. Not as good as OotS, but definitely one of the better web comics out there.

Well, let's start a conversation: What do you think of Louie's plan? The Rings themselves seem quite powerful, but heavyhanded when directly commanding their hosts. And neither Louie nor the four-armed snake goddess look like they actually have a plan beyond: "Get 'Im!"
And of course, Louie's Ring is the One Ring, and he is currently wearing it. Who will be this story's Gollum?

I wish it would succeed.

However, exactly this is the problem. I don't see them do anything but getting control of the caves. And not even that. Plus, it's pretty obvious any rebels against it win by default by the power of plot.

I was wondering why the Illithid was so complacent about Lewie's takeover plans, I would have expected some criticism (well, the "can we have their brains" joke would not have worked then, of course). Why didn't Lewie make a Ring for the Illithid anyway? They don't work on Mindflayers?
My choice for the Gollum would be Arachne, simply because it would be the most amusing. No idea how she would find herself in that position though.

Very nice comic! Thanks for introducing me to it. Reminds me of Fredrik K.T. Andersson's work, AND links to his comics. I like the author's style. I'm thinking of going though the archives a few times just to see how he draws various stuff - because the strips aren't inked or coloured, it's excellent learning material.

I don't mind "once in a while". When "once in a while" turns into situation 75% of the time evil proves to be more cool, badass and overall better than good, it's annoying.

Re: Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic, by Rich Morris
Sorry, I meant to say that more in a "In nearly all our media, the good guy wins" sense. Which I guess is untrue to an extent. Pretty stupid comment, now that I think about it
And the world itself is plagued by good and evil pretty equally, its just that evil catches our attentions, and more importantly, our news. When was the last time you heard about a kindly couple on the news? When was the last time you heard about kidnappings, murders, and arsons? Now, when was the last time you saw a kindly couple, and when was the last time you saw a murder?
Re: Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic, by Rich Morris
Looks like I might have to take back what I just said. The strip has taken a serious turn to the dark. King Lewistrom is definately Evil, with a capital E, and Kali doesn't seem to care that killing EVERYONE will result in no new dead and/or undead.
We went to extreme "Good," on the "Clover becomes Queen (technically Baroness, I think)," now we are actually exploring what Evil really means.
Any thoughts?
