Ongoing Games (In-Character)Play-by-post games are going on in this forum as we speak (well, read). All threads on this board are actual games, so please, only post on a thread if you are a player of that game.
One dark generic 24-hour time unit in the Underdark (The Underdark doesn't have a sun, remember?), Ez-a'liar'kdan Rualec, a little known drow cleric of the Rualec house, was formulating a spell. This arcane working, complex in its nature seemed to indicate "taking intelligence and power from Lolth's aspect of the Cat" (a lesser known facet of Lolth's domain). However, as the magical nexi started humming with power, she realised, though much too late, that she had accidently reversed the spell incantation! In this form, it would serve to give power to "Lolth's aspect of the cat"! The last thing she ever did, before her intelligence and power were sucked away, was look down at her cats, whose eyes were glowing with an unholy light...

What do you get when you cross Star Wars, Star Trek, OD&D, and percentile rolls, and jumble it up in a big pot of surrealism? This game right here.

Your bolt of black energy lances into the drow cleric's corpse, blasting a small chunk of flesh of its rotting, decomposing body.

((Oh okay, sorry about that. I kinda assumed that you guys would take it as if she had been Int, Wis and Cha poisoned to zero. That is, effectively dead. I also had a pretty vivid mental image about it.))
You are in the Magic Laboratory of your late ex-mistress's mansion. anything vaguely edible here would not be good for you.

((Sure thing Eerie, sorry about not doing it before. And yes, Int, Wis, and Cha at zero means that she is technically alive, but having so much life energy drained out of her caused a system shock and she had a heart attack. Enough about the specifics.))
The room, being the old magic laboratory that your pet drow (Cat's think of humans as their pets. Get some and you'll see.) never let you play in, is a largish room, still filled with multi-colored smoke from the spell. Jars upon jars of preserved magical components, and books upon books of forgotten lore are piled upon the shelves. Strange glass instruments and metal tongs litter a bench. A giant cauldron sits in the centre of the room. There is a set of stairs going upwards, that leads to an oaken door. There is another, closer (and consequently, the one you're heading towards), door. It is large, and made of iron. It is covered in blood, spikes, and.....eggcartons? It appears unlocked.
