Re: [Spell] For when things are quiet, too quiet...
Wonderful. Reminds me of a song.
The old gunfighter on the porch
stared into the sun
and relived the days of living by the gun
when deadly games of pride were played
and living was mistakes not made
and the thought of the smell of the black powder smoke
and the stand in the street at the turn of a joke
Ah, the smell of the black powder smoke
and the stand in the street at the turn of a joke
It's always keep your back to the sun
and he can almost feel the weight of the gun
it's faster than snakes or the blink of an eye
and it's a time for all slow men to die
and his eyes get squinty and his fingers twitch
and he empties the gun at the son of a *****
and he's hit by the smell of the black powder smoke
and the stand in the street at the turn of a joke
hit by the smell of the black powder smoke
and the stand in the street at the turn of a joke
Now the burn of a bullet is only a scar
he's back in his chair in front of the bar
and the streets are empty and the blood's all dried
and the dead are dust and the whiskey's inside
so buy him a drink and lend him an ear
he's nobody's fool and the only one here
who remembers the smell of the black powder smoke
and the stand in the street at the turn of a joke
remember the smell of the black powder smoke
and the stand in the street at the turn of a joke
He said I stood in that street before it was paved
learned shoot or be shot before I could shave
and I did it all for the money and fame
noble was nothing but feeling no shame
and nothing was sacred but stayin' alive
and all that I learned from a Colt 45
was to curse the smell of the black powder smoke
and the stand in the street at the turn of a joke
curse the smell of the black powder smoke
and the stand in the street at the turn of a joke
Now he's just an old man that no one believes
says he's a gunfighter, the last of the breed
and there are ghosts in the street seeking revenge
calling him out to the lunatic fringe
now he's out in the traffic checking the sun
and he's killed by a car as he goes for his gun
So much for the smell of the black powder smoke
and the stand in the street at the turn of a joke
so much for the smell of the black powder smoke
and the stand in the street at the turn of a joke
Re: [Spell] For when things are quiet, too quiet...
I'd say Somatic instead of Verbal. Just flex them fingers over the gun, er, bow... I'd also say it would come with light breeze to roll it along, and maybe just need a pinch of sand.

Being wood I believe it TECHNICALLY has hardness 5... but, depending on how springy they are I wouldn't give it any of that... hitpoints depend on what you count as "destroyed".
I concur that the bard should get this... and it should STILL have no verbal component for them I think...
Re: [Spell] For when things are quiet, too quiet...
Hehehe, very nice. Any good one-one confrontation in a hot/dry climate needs tumbleweeds!

Re: [Spell] For when things are quiet, too quiet...
lol reminds me of when I used the create food and water spell to crush a level 20 wizard with my level 16 favored soul... Thats enough to feed 48 humans 24 ogre's 12 giants, 6 purple worms or 3 collosal red dragons and sustain them for a whole day! That breakfast, lunch and dinner for the entire village all dropped on your head!
This would be a pretty nice spell with 1 tumble weed for level or if you could up the size for every 4 levels... GARGANTUAN TUMBLE WEED OF DOOM! lol... Making sure to add this to my spell list.

I think this is just a west coast thing, but...
Summon Akward Turtle
Enchantment
Level: Bard 4
Components: S
Casting Time: 1 full-round action
Range: Close
Effect: Forces Akward Turtle upon others
Duration: 1 round/level
Saving Throw: Will partial (see text)
Spell Resistance: No
You twiddle your thumbs without looking at them. If antone else looks at them, they must immediately drop what they are holding and also take up this action. They may not speak or use their hands. A will save negates the loss of hand control, but any subject that looks at your hands is effectively silenced for the entire duration. Only a burst of laughter from an outside party can end the effect of the spell prematurely.
