Hey, who's the lich here? You? I didn't think so.

Priceless.

And on a side note, the xykon smiley works equally well for Finx. Convenient. <---No, not sarcasm. <----Not sarcasm either.

I think there's a lot of evidence against him being a Greater Shadow, boomwolf. For one, shadows can't communicate intelligibly, and have a pretty low Intelligence score at a mere 6 for Greaters. As incorporeal creatures, they can pass through objects and that would make clothes shopping pretty darn expensive, not to mention the "physical" details with a relationship with Keriss.

Ultimately, I think there's enough evidence to disprove the theory of Aldran being a Greater Shadow. Much like Finx, Lich is possible given illusion magic, however.

Or he just used mad epic magics to extend his life span.

OR he isn't old enough to die of natural causes Anyway, and Finx's statment "You should be just as dead as me" refers to Aldran faking his own death in a different manner.

I think it's referring to the fact that Aldran faked his death in order to escape the myriad of Big Bads that are after him.

Told you Finx was going to be tough. But man, he really does need a new outfit. Those clothes just do not look right on him! Can we get "Queer Eye for the Undead Abomination" in here?

Considering the limits on the size of a lich's phylactery, this is unlikely. That, combined with the fact that the phylactery can't have any additional enchantments on it, completely defeats your theory.

However, if it was part of the ship, that might work!

A lich? Wow. Nicely done, Zarah.

On another note, what's-his-name-henchman probably has on his person much like Redcloak with Xykon. Don't cha think?

I wasn't expecting a lich, but nice twist none-the-less! Finx better hope Xykon doesn't know Mr Jones and Mr Rodriguez.

Great comic. I don't remember if I've posted before, but I've been reading for a while now. It's definitely very great work.

I think he'll be OK. It's just like Redcloak said: liches are pretty well indistinguishable from each other, as well as other undead. (They're just skeletons. Even Roy looks like Xykon when his flesh rotted off.)

You know what I don't get is why Liches don't just throw their phylacteries in some ocean in a sealed iron box under the sand.

Scryers could find it, but only if they knew what it was... Why not just make it a shoe or something?

Pride, for one.

Another thing, when a lich crafts its phylactery, it is always obviously magical in aura and appearance.

A single shoe that looks and pings magic might come off as more than a bit suspicious.

Wait, so is there a minimum size for a phylactory? Because if not, can't they just make it a glueon?

There is a size for a phylactery. It has to be Tiny-sized.

If I depended on an object for my resurrection after my body was destroyed, I would want to make sure that I knew where it was at all times. If I just throw in the ocean, who knows where it might end up, or in whose hands?

Like a ring, and being found and worn by a paladin trying to destroy you. That would be ironic.

My Dread Necromancer player had an interesting idea...

Put your phylactery, whatever it may be, inside a Grisgol (MMIII). If anyone kills the Grisgol and attempts to find the phylactery amongst the trash that makes its body, they go insane.

Your soul is safe, and your enemy goes crazy. It's a win-win situation!
