For some reason, I've been picturing Pink as a girl all this time...I guess my mind just glossed over all of the "his"es in your posts. I totally read your posts as a girl, and your avatar looks like a girl...so maybe Pink is an androgynous male?
That'd make for some very amusing situations later. We can just keep it as it is. You're a guy, but for some reason or another, I've mistaken you for a girl. High voice, neutral features...you know the type of guy.
It'd be even better if everyone else knew Pink was a guy, and Jimmy was the only one out of the loop. Other than your "his"es, you make no mention of your gender, so it would be supported, albeit slightly.

[OOC: Perfectly fine with me. Sounds fun actually. And don't blame yourself, for years did a confusing nongender thing. The avvie is supposed to be difficult to tell whether it's male or female. "Locked Doors and windows? Well it's obvious what to do then."
IC: Drawing his blade Link walks up to one of the windows and smashes the glass.
OOC: "There, that should do things. Wait, umm...why are we trying to get into this building? I didn't quite catch it the first time."
"Darn, I knew I should've switched Charisma and Wisdom."
IC: "There is now a way in if anyone cares to go in for a drink." Link says, sheathing his sword with a flourish as he speaks to the grumbling drunks and the rest of the party.
Surly twitches. "A tavern? With a window in it? I don't know much about this, but I bet it's a trap!" He then affects a pompous "mysterious" accent and begins to speak in-character.
Xtremkz Aw'zumsauze pokes Killstealr in the side. "Be careful. In my home country, there would be several men posted to stab anyone who tries to climb through that window. Weak-minded humans who can not even open a tavern on time probably are not clever enough to do so, but I will look through for you first." Xtremkz checks through the window.

With that, he jumps inside the building.
Looking up from the table, Jimmy (the Person) rolls a die.
"Alright! Tell me, oh mighty DM, what do I see? Oh! Wait! You have to whisper to me, or write it down, so that only I know, because the others can't see what I see." He displays a smug smile as he waits for the DM to let him know what's inside the building.

"Umm, Hey, unlock the door and let me in too. My character wants booze too!" Pink says with a smile, clearly not a good master of getting into character.
Besides the corpse and crudely crafted dagger, you see kegs of beer, a clean stable of mugs, everything you'd expect to see right before a tavern opens.
There's no note, no evidence of who killed the tavern keep, there is a few smutty hafling magizines in the corner, but nothing of real value that could help you solve the murder.
Walking over to the dead man's body, Jimmy (the Kender)'s hands idly wandered over the plump corpse for any items of interest, while he looked around the room. Slowly, a plan began to form in his mind.
Walking away from the body (which was now devoid of any objects, including the dagger which had previously been set next to the corpse), he grabbed a mug and filled it with beer. Gulping the contents, he raised his voice.
"Hey, everybody! It's fine! Come on i-aaAAH!"
He ended the sentence with a yelp, and threw the empty tankard against a wall. He then ran around the room, yelling and upturning chairs and tables.
HELP! HELP! By all the gods above and below, it's hideous! HEEEEEEL-!"
He cut his scream short, and stopped in his tracks, as he saw someone entering the tavern. Hiding in the shadows and among the tables, he watched his handiwork.

Sense none of the PCs botherd to try and kick open the door or pick the lock, one of the commoners did, and they all planly see the crazy ass kender trying to hide in the shadows like a dork, and they notice the tavern keep lying on the floor face down. One of the commoners goes over and looks.
"It looks like the man was stabbed... but... there's no blade?"
"Oh, right..stupid new rules. Why are we playing with 5.0 again? It's not like I'm going to buy it...
Jimmy (the kender) looks up into the bright light. "Wow. Could you all have ruined that prank any more royally? Seriously! I go through all that trouble to give you all a few laughs, and this is how you repay me!?"
Throwing his hands in the air, Jimmy walked around the bar to get himself another mug of lager ("Oh! That spoon's shiny!" he thought), while the big folk started talking about the dead guy.

"No blade? What are you - oh. There was a knife in his back when I looked in. It must have been a knife made out of ice, then! One that melted. You should execute everyone in this village who has access to ice!"
