Marsh does not interject, and allows herself to be led to Kamiel. She is uncomfortable but does not show it. Being somebody who takes control of minds, or tries to weaken or debilitate enemies in order to escape, makes her generally uncomfortable around a living machine, even if they are not totally immune to mental magic like a true construct would be. She does not however show outwardly any of her apprehensions.
Unless Kamiel engages Konnor in conversation in any exclusive way, Marsh says, "Marsh of Leblanche – pleased to meet you." And graciously extends a hand towards the warforged.
Konnor's hand twitches a bit as he remembers his previous handshaking experience with Kamiel. She's going to break something. He takes Marsh's extended hand as though it were an invitation for escort, and somewhat nervously says, "Haha! Yes! Very pleased indeed. But allow me to do the introductions. Kamiel, this is Marsh of Leblanche, Marsh, this is Kamiel, a warforged scholor and spellcasting variant model."

The construct turns his head to look over his shoulder. "Of course. Extensive capability does not necessarily equal extensive enthusiasm ... not even when it comes to patient waiting." Almost as an afterthought, he adds "And it might have made the librarian nervous."
He carefully replaces the book he was browsing on the shelf, then turns fully around. "Well met again, Konnor Greystaff of Aundair." Then the green glow of his eyes turns towards the girl standing next to Konnor, looking her over for a few more heartbeats than most humans would feel comfortable with.
When he starts to reach for Marsh's delicate hand, however, Konnor reacts just in time. Kamiel looks at him for a moment, then returns his gaze to Marsh.
"What is your interest in this matter, Marsh of Leblanche?"

"My interests are manyfold," Marsh says, "Foremost is that the entire idea of a secret weapon project, and the idea that the product could be "lost" are both extremely suspect to me. I don't really trust the politics of the Dragonmarked houses at all."
From personal experience, not that any of you would know...
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Kamiel, if only it had not been under these tense circumstances."
Releasing Marsh's hand, Konnor moves towards a library table. "I found out some interesting things about the situation last night, and so did Marsh." Konnor sits at one corner of the table (unless it's round ) and begins fishing around in his vest pouch.

The construct nods. "A suspicion we share," he says, after considering Marsh's explanation for a moment.
He walks over to the table Konnor has chosen, then locks his gaze upon her again.
"What are your other interests in this?"

"Relatively minor," Marsh says with a smile, also sitting down on the table, "Not even really worth discussing. Mostly items of personal curiosity involving this...weapon of theirs. I think it's better if instead we discuss what happened yesterday and what happens next."
Spoiler
Bluff 24, as she does have other interests, namely actually using the weapon, which she really doesn't want anyone to know. So I guess even if it's just withholding information it's still a lie.
Expressionlessly, Kamiel looks at Marsh for another moment, then nods. "One more thing I would know, before we turn to that discussion. What is your allegiance?"
He chooses a chair and sits down, causing a pitiful creak from the wood.
Spoiler
Well, I could hit it, but only with my quarterstaff. Sense Motive? Well, she seems ... hungry? Maybe?

You have been fleeing Karnath's agents for several days. Escaping to Sharn, you think that being within the city confines should keep you safe.
How wrong you were.
The moment you stepped into the upper districts, you've been tailed by the Sharn Watch. Some people are whispering that it's due to your ancestry. Your journey through the city to shake them off takes you to Morgrave University, where you notice something strange going on.
An old-looking man with pale blue eyes, a beak-like nose, and graying hair is staring down a halfling in broad daylight. The man is wearing a brown trench coat and the halfling some ragged clothing. Due to the recent death of the mayor, the University doesn't have many students visiting, but it's still strange that no one is raising a fuss about it.
Things get even more serious when the old man produces a hunting knife, snarling at the short figure before him.
"Des has been slain. You gave us the wrong info about Jerrik. You said the one he was with wasn't capable." Says the old man.

Seeing the situation, the hobgoblin draws his scimitar.
He stands tall, wearing mythril breastplate, with a shield displaying his clan insignia at his back. Around his neck is a well-worn iron holy symbol of Dol Dorn.
His face, arms, and where visible, his chest are riddled with scars. The most notable include a cruel diagonal slash across his neck, a a horrid scar down his left eye, and a truly horrendous fish-hok scar coming out of the right side of his mouth and ending near his right ear--which is also nocked with scars.
When he speaks, his voice is deep and gravelly. It is a voice accustomed to speaking with authority.
I think perhaps we should all calm down. I'm not sure what this halfling has done to wrong you, but his death will solve nothing. I'm sure we can end this peacably.
"Allegiance?" Marsh says, "I don't really have any. I have interests – my interest is that we find that weapon before House Cannith does and prevent them from getting whatever use they wanted out of it. Therefore, my allegiance is with anyone who wants to do the same."
Asking a hell of a lot of questions, are you? Well, you're not on to me, so I don't mind. It's not like anyone knows, or has to know, that I'm Latin D'Cannith and want to see Merrix hung up on a pole by his entrails.
Spoiler
I think that's a Bluff check too, 23 this time. I hope nobody's annoyed at all my bluff checks. I made investments in the skill >_>
The old man laughs. "Yes, that's right... He mutters, seemingly not in response to your request.
"I'll give you two options, gobbo. The first is that you pretend this never happened. The students here are cowards and won't get in my way, and the Watch is more concerned with events unrelated to a worthless halfling. The second option involves me making your smile twice as wide. What'll it be, gobbo?" His eyes glitter with pure malice and he smiles, turning the hunting knife to you. "Won't matter to me either way. I can change anytime and get out of here when I see fit."
The halfling, scared out of his wits, remains quiet and gulps.

Kurtoch mouth turns into a disturbing grin, made although the more eerie by the scar.
It's been awhile since I've been in a good tussle. A part of me was hoping you'd say that.
Kurtoch approaches the old man, and swipes at him with his sword.
"He got me!" The old man yells as you manage a shallow wound with your sword. "Didn't expect you to have the guts, gobbo!"
He takes the time to actually transform before your eyes. His features ripple and change colors, along with his clothes. The sight of his new form shocks you deeply.
"Kill me, gobbo, and you lose the last link to this man. Though it could be maybe I actually am him? You never know."
The old man has shapeshifted his form and clothing entirely to that of the Paladin of Dol Dorn you freed some time ago.
OOC:
Spoiler
Spot check for Kurtoch.

"Assuming that we are able to acquire the prototype, what would you suggest to do with it, then? Or whom would you entrust it to?" Kamiel calmy asks.
Spoiler
Still would need the quarterstaff to poke holes into her "allegiance"-answer. *grumbles*
And I second Jade's question about the quarrel outside!

Apologies for the double post. I don't have my dice right now and you can't edit forum posts with dice rolls in them. This is assuming a 24 listen check smokes a DC that the DM described as "you probably hear him."
Konnor turns his head partway around to listen for a minute, then turns back to the table and looks at Kamiel as he jerks his thumb towards the door. "That sound like a study session to you?"

Kamiel raises his head towards the library doors. "That noise ... No. Excuse me for a moment. That noise outside the library is unacceptable." The warforged rises from his chair, then turns back to Konnor and Marsh for a moment. "I'll be back."
Then, nodding to the librarian, Kamiel walks out of the library.

Whoops, didn't realize you sneaked in a post, Jade! Adjusted mine a bit.

Konnor hosts a kind of internal fight. It's likely nothing. On the other hand, trouble has been clinging to me like the heat ever since I arrived. I didn't survive last night by ignoring points of interest...
After a moment's hesitation, Konnor scoots his chair out from the table, tosses a quick nod to Marsh, and heads after Kamiel.

He looks like the spitting image of the Paladin of Dol Dorn you once knew.
Marsh, Konnor, and Kamiel in the library all catch wind of the argument outside and head out, seeing Kurtoch confronting the Paladin. The halfling, knowing when something is up, makes a run for it. No one seems to be wanting to interfere in this argument, either ignoring you all or running by quickly. It's strange, even for Sharn on a day like this, for such a thing to occur...
Spoiler
Spot checks for the three of you.

Kurtoch is fooled by the illusion. He reacts strangely.
But, but what are you doing here? And why where you threatening that halfling?..and why are you calling me gobbo? You never had a problem with my heritage before!
Kurtcoh decides to try to grab the halfling as he runs past.
OOC: I'm assuming, OOC that this guy is a changeling with some sort of dirt on Kurtoch. Seeing as how this guy is acting much differently than the paladin, could Kurtoch have a Sense Motive check?
