Default Lookie what I made!

MY dad recntly forbade me from using the computer. In a fit of boredom I got my Mecanno collection out. After sitting around a bit, I decided to improve on my previous wrist-mounted crossbow (yeah, I made it myself), and make a proper crossbow. Here are some pictures (Warning, big).

^The crossbow, next to a 30cm ruler.
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...h_2006/Bow.jpg
^The Bow, made out of strips, with 4 laminations. Its bloody hard to pull back.

^The trigger mechanism.

^The polystyrene target I made. The thing can fire pencils so deep, they don't come out when you hold the target upside-down.

Stuff I'm going to add:
  • Goats foot, for reloading
  • Longer launch rail
  • something to stop the pencils kicking up when they leave the rail
  • The catches for the trigger will be moved to the exterior, to enable me to knock the pencils properly.
  • Padding on the stock
  • A sight

It fires pencils, which I modify by sawing the end square with a hacksaw, then filing a knocking groove in.

So, wadda ya think?

That's rather awesome. Is there any chance you wrote down instructions on how to make that? If you did write them down, I'd love to see them.

I don't tend to write down what I make, sorry. If I had that program that makes Mecanno instruction diagrams, I would, but I can't find it anywhere. I mostly make it up as I go along, so I don't tend to make plans. I could give you pointers though.
