There's a rule to handle it, though I forget where in the rulebook. Redcloak is Unique, so when you play him, the previous version of him is removed from the board.

Page 5, in the section that addresses monster name:
"The monster name is mainly for flavor. However, some cards are designated Unique (green name and border). If there is another Monster with the same name already in play somewhere in the dungeon, then that Monster goes to the discard pile when this card is added to a battle."
Does anyone know whether or not the double-check of this list has been done yet? I know apegamer was talking about doing one before the forum migration began, but I haven't seen anything since.
Also, would it be possible to list how many variant images there should be for cards which have multiple copies? All three of my Word of Thor loot cards have the "STOP! Hammer Time" caption, but the one Elan offers to Durkon in the quickstart rules has a different picture and a "Blah blah bless blah" caption. Should I have one of those, or wasn't it included in the final release?
No, I'm a bad rabbit and haven't done the recheck yet. I also need to update the FAQ. I really will try to get both these things done in the next week.
There's also the promo card (which was available at Gen Con 2006) Zombie Gamers.
Are there other Promo cards? If so, how were they distributed and/or how can you get them?

If anyone does have information on how to get at a copy of that promotional card I would be interested. Even if I had to shell out a buck or three I would still be interested.
so this is a random question that has almost no impact on the game, however I was wandering through the rules book and noticed the example Word of Thor on page 14 has Thor saying "I'm a little busy right now..." which none of my copies have. (mine all say "Stop! Hammer time!") Is this a mistake, or is the one in the book a secret fake card?

Well, this is a bit of a random question, but I have a bit of a dilemma.
It turns out that I got a brand-new "Order of the Stick Adventure Game" for my birthday, my first one as a late present from a friend, and opened it up, exploring the contents.
Unfortunately, it turns out that I left the "shticks" deck on my bed, and, thinking they'd be safe, ran errands all day.
Upon returning, I found my house destroyed by my puppies, who are still learning NOT to chew, and rushed to the game quickly.
Even more upsetting than the condition of my house was the fact that they only got to one card, and chewed it up beyond recognition. Sadly, I did not even get to break any of it in...
So, I am asking all members, and owners of the game, PLEASE help me by telling me what Vaarsuvius' Shticks card, "Seldom-Used Quarterstaff" had listed.
I am in desparation, because it truly feels like my game is nowhere near being complete, or even that it can be played, despite having 99.9% of the game still in mint condition.
If anyone can help me, PLEASE post a message on here, or email me at Dragonflyer517@hotmail.com. Whether it's a list of the information, or an actual picture for me to copy and print out a copy, I would gladly appreciate any and all help.

Hi. I've just had a horribly upsetting time with my ten year old son. I had gotten him this game for Christmas, and we were looking forward to playing it during Christmas break. I return home from work and he tells me that Durken and Belkar only have one Schtick card each. I get a little upset WITH HIM about whether or not he's misplaced the cards, and then I begin cataloguing the cards in the box. While he MIGHT have misplaced cards, there's no way he could have found multiple copies of other cards. V's Deck had the most cards, so I started there. There were 7 red schticks, 3 of the Fireball, 4 of the Magic Missile, NONE of the other Red schticks. In the black-schtick part of V's decks I found triple copies of two Fireball cards, and quadruple copies of three different Lightning Bolt Cards. Similarly, there were multiple copies , 2-4 each, of almost all the other spells. Going thru the rules, there were NO itemized component lists (ie a list telling us that there are 6 schtick decks, each with 52 schtick cards, 1 Dungeon Room deck with "n" cards, etc.) So I'm getting more upset. But realizing that there were duplicates of many of V's spells, I start assuming there are packing problems.
In the FAQ I found a reference to the web site and forums, and from there found this thread.
THAT quickly confirmed that we've got one HUGE lemon of a packing problem here. At that point I MASSIVELY apologized to my son . He LOVES OOTS (we both do) and was only going thru his present to see how it played.
Allow me to provide a bit of detail:
- 1) There is no "detailed box contents" anywhere in the rules. (upsetting item #1)

I got that, but thanks. I'm not thrilled to have to go thru three sized decks and several hundred cards though....
Also, I'm left wondering "what else" might be missing? Hence I listed the Rules, Quick-Start Comic/Rules (worth the price of admission btw), the FAQ, stands and dice. So aside from cards, which I guess will be my next two hours of spare time, is there anything ELSE supposed to be aboard the box?
Or, better, a location listing the EXACT contents? I never expected there to be list of the exact card titles, but a summary list that there are 6 character decks with "x" number of cards each, 2715 Dungeon Room cards, 15 Xykon cards, 2 dice, 3 turtles doves, 2 french hens, and that the partridge and pear tree are due in the next expansion. :)
Also, I'm left wondering "what else" might be missing?

Apparently I'm blind. I totally missed the "Other Pieces" list. I'm assuming I was looking for "cards" and so mind-blanked on the non-cards. Plus, it's a long list, so by the end there, my eyes were glazed.
Also, and more importantly, I've just gotten thru replying to a wonderful email from Ape Games. They're gonna send me out the missing cards asap. With all the missing cards they were just gonna send me "fresh decks"! Wonderful response, enough so that I got off my , uh, butt, and checked thru all the cards anyway. Two hours later, and the only problems I have are with the Schtick decks. All the other decks are complete and playable. So I've let them know that. That should save some on the package size and all the hassles at USPS (their end) and Canada Post and Customs & Excise (my end).
So a big "thank you " to all who helped out. It's important to me to let you all know that Ape Games is really looking after their customers well, even in this busy holiday time.
