Well when I say normal I mean straight blade, although they're worse made technically. Or go for a Scimitar, it's curvy but they won't know what it is because lay people only know swords and katanas.:smalltongue:

Scimitars are awesome, I want one...

Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
Grip is important. I've never practiced on a one-hander like a scimitar.
Not to say I'd be opposed to it, but I still haven't done it, before.

Once I live alone, I plan on buying a cloak and a scythe and, should anyone break in, I'll just make them ruin their pants. Ahh, the joys of giving burglars heart attacks...

Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
We saw some beautiful (if overpriced) weapons at the Ren Fest. The double bladed axe was lovely and had a spike on the end of the handle. I saw a couple of short swords I would've loved to have, but the daggers were my favorite.
Again, though, very expensive...

I like my sword.
*swish*
And yes, the Knights of Columbus were actual knights.
In my head.

Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
This weekend is the best weekend I've had in a long time!
On Friday (er, yesterday) I went to my school's Varsity football game. Even though we didn't win (our rival kicked the butts of every individual football player with a score of 21-7), it was still fun to be there. Then, I slept over at my friend's house and finished the book I'd been reading. Today, I went to the Salvation Army store with that friend with Halloween on our minds and bought some stuff for my costume. Most notably, a pair of amazing red pumps. Actually, I'm not particularly sure what I'm going to be for Halloween, I'm just going to put something extravagant together and hope people think it's a costume. And tomorrow, I'm going to see a play with some drama kids at my school. It'll be fun.
Also, on Wednesday, I went to Barnes & Noble to spend my $50 gift card. I ended up with a bunch of small paperbacks and six dollars left on my card.
So, lately=

Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
im quite mad right now, i had to get my hair cut, cause i had some kind of rash around my neck, so instead of it getting worse cause of my hair rubbing on it(hair was about neck length) i got my sister to cut it. So about 2 minutes into cutting it(was only gonna cut about 2-3 inches) she said she never took a cosmo course or knew wat she was doin with scissors, so i said just give me a brushcut(here i asked for the longest setting on the shaver), but she said my hair was too thick and put on a shorter blade. After i was done I asked if she could cut the sides a bit shorter, so she starts and she scalps me on the side about 1/2inch to far so now i have basicly a brushcut mohawk, from a mullet

Well, you never know, maybe you'll start a new fashion statement.
Also, I have discovered that playing with clay and then typing something on the internetz is a bad idea. I now have a keyboard filled with dust. :smallannoyed:

Ouch. Sorry bro. Being a dude with some hair that I do NOT wanna lose, I feel your pain.

Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
Hello! I don't come in here very often but I had to say this:
Does anyone else think it would have been more awesome if in the title the "R" and the "B" were left out to make it extra alliterative. So instead it would be "Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Andom Anter #104."
I think that would have been funny...
-
Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
Sometime around RB#69 the mods came in and poked us for not putting the words "Random Banter" in the thread title. I don't know if they would allow that one, but it would be pretty cool.
In other news, I don't feel sick anymore. Eating at the pie place did the trick. That is the last time I listen to my mother when she tells me to eat only some very bland food. Pretty much as soon as I ate a Reuben sandwich I got better. Must be that sauerkraut. Yum.:smallamused:

Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
*cough* Long since thought of, in fact, I've done and/or suggested it twice thrice.
Loveable Lianae's Ludicrous Lampooning Lottery #24
(I spent quite a while trying to come up with two words starting with L that meant random banter to suggest to Lianae, also, we had to shrink it to fit the maximum title length of the old forum software)
Serpentine's Scintillating Sensually and Sinuously Seductive Stochastic Satire #84
(This one was even harder, and what I initially suggested was too long for the new forum software)
VOTE, the Democracy Demon's Devilishly Devious and Decidedly Diabolical Desultory Derision (Random Banter) #100
(Ok, so that title was longer than the board software allowed, I had to change the limit just to fit it in, it was a special occasion!)

Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
Hmm.
Is it too late to edit the threat title, possible removing the heretical and unwanted "R" and "B", as Krade suggested?
-
Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
I believe not. To my understanding there isn't a limit on when you can change titles: just double click on the threat from the subforum page and get rid of em. I think it should still work.

Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
There's a two week limit before titles can't be changed*

Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
Please don't just remove the Rs...
-
Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
Oh, i won't edit it.
Jus' wondering.
Also, to continue the buglary topic, i sleep with a WW2 bayonet next to my bed.
It's kinda sharp, and a little bit rusted at the tip.
Stabbings and tetanus!

Actually, the limit is 40320 minutes (which is actually a fair bit longer than two weeks).

Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
Red Arrows display team just went roaring across Newcastle spewing coloured smoke in their wake.
Must be the Great North Run (20,000+ eejits spend hours disrupting traffic by running the route of a 20 minute Metro trip, then stink up Newcastle with the reek of stale sweat and Deep Heat afterwards).
Gawd I hate fun runners. They must have some sort of bizarre infectious St. Vitas Dance brain rot going on, a weird affliction that forces them to lurch along in sweaty, red-faced herds. I understand you have to shoot them in the face when you see them, otherwise they bite you and turn you into a mindless jogzombie too. :smallmad:
"Igor! Unpack ze Claymore mines!"

Yep, tis the great north run, my parents have got it on the telly, I think it's pointless.

On blades, I made this thing for... Pxp, I think. I really liked the knife I based it on, but I think I looked for the picture again and it'd gone.

Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
Wow that's awesome, and it looks like a beautiful knife, is it a katar or a normal knife?:smallconfused: I'm no expert on weaponry so I don't know.
-
Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
I think it's a Katar or a Punching Dagger (if they are both different). That looks neat, Serpentine.
-
Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
I don't know if there is a name for that type of knife, but those look awesome.

Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
Here we go, Rawhide found it. The original photo, which was much bigger, has gone.

Re: Aziraphales Actually Alliterative And Awesomely Affluent Random Banter #104
That's also only in one of it's positions. This is a different dagger, but of the same concept.
Also: You're welcome.
