Good. Well, considering the character types of Rouga and Edward, the outcome ought to prove amusing. :smallamused:
Actually, of the two, Rouge might have an actual chance. He's at least honest about everything (such as the nature of Hollows and all), and still seems to find Genny attractive. As well, he's a bit of a "challenge", being someone who once fought the Ghost King himself.
...What? The idea amuses me.
Okay, sure. :smalltongue:
Ah, long weekends back at heim are so nice...
*uncle begins playing piano accordian*
*silence from the kitchen*
suddenly...
"STOP THAT NOISE, SAUKERL!!!"
Gotta love weekends at my aunt's house.
I apologize, but this may be necessary...
Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!
*cookies if you can tell me what movie that line is originally from.
Ding ding ding! Correct! Give the man der Internetz.
Speaking of Russia...
"The chair exploded because Russia was more evil than the chair."
Betcha nobody can tell me what manga that's from. :smallamused:
Ah well, I remember showing that to my cousins...the 'Germany song' made one of them scream, the other one choke, and provoke my aunt to yell from the kitchen, 'Does that man know me?' :smalltongue:
If Ken's powers are "Increased Physical Abilities", he could always punch the rock Kaito is keeping floating in mid-air.
It's a better scientific measurement, though. Rocks have known, set qualities. If Ken busts a 100lb boulder to pieces, we know he's got clearly superhuman strength. And so on.
I was just offering up a suggestion to let him interact with a character that's not female, but whatever.
Or he could just jump onto the temple's ceiling or something.
I totally see your point. I sincerely appreciate the gesture. I didn't want him to break anything intentionally though. I also didn't plan on him necessarily having stone crushing/breaking strength to start. He's also not going to goof around forever. He's only been part of the story for 1 IC day and is now in his 2nd. Right now he's just having fun teasing the easily flustered shrine maiden and indulging the cute catgirl. He doesn't really care about getting to know everyone present. He'd be content to make only a single one of the super kids a good friend. He was serious and silent during the hollow fight and he didn't joke about with Kina when he spoke to her so if you're bothered by him not being serious enough for your tastes well then... geez, sorry. Different strokes for different folks and all that jazz.
My thoughts exactly.
Y'know I don't criticize how you write your stuff. I don't constantly post sigh and annoyance emoticons when talking about you in some way. I don't constantly act disappointed with you.
I guess between him and Edward of late, it felt like "flirt with girls in cheesy ways" was all your characters did. You are correct about the Hollow fight, fair point.
Still, I'll be honest that something about Ken has always rubbed me a little wrong, but it's no one thing about him. *Shrugs*
I'm not going to even bother defending myself anymore. In this case, context is everything. Not much has happened in either setting. I play one character in one setting specifically as a silly flirt. Another happens to do some silly flirting in a different setting. That doesn't mean he's going to be identical. It doesn't mean both characters will only do silly flirting/joking/whatever. It's not my fault both settings have been moving slowly. I am more active than the average poster here. If more had happened by now both characters probably wouldn't seem so lousy to you as I'd have more chances to show them acting in different ways. I'm not going to rush to show Ken being a serious/caring/intelligent/whatever person. I'm not going to force displays of such attributes. If I feel like having him goof some more he'll goof some more. When I feel like having him be serious, he'll be serious.
I think the problem is a combination of a.)how active I tend to be on the threads, and b.)how gosh-darn blasted slow things feel like they've been moving for the MW kids. Weeks have gone by for around a day of IC time. I guess between that, and a couple other factors, it pushed the oddity of his behavior (as I perceived it) to the forefront.
Ken really isn't even supposed to be flirting. He's someone who enjoys humouring silly people and being sarcastic/melodramatic. He heaps praise on Sayaka to enjoy her reactions and humour her father who seems to be a trickster/kidder/tease. He's kind of just waiting for Haruaki to call him out on being a massive suck-up. He goes along with Ayase's shenanigans because he figures he'd like to be a friendly counterbalance to Kaito's outright rejection of it, to irk him a bit because to Ken he seems somewhat easily irked and to him his actions are lighthearted fun. Why not pet the ridiculous cat person? Why not join her in her antics and see what happens? No one is getting hurt and he finds it entertaining. He doesn't plan on treating Kina the way he does the other two since she appears way too delicate. He doesn't plan on pestering Sayaka forever with flattery. He's basically done doing that.
Also, just a point...it's going slow because we are relying on like 7 different people to post to keep this plotline going. Some of us aren't really doing very much now because we're waiting on others. Also...what plot do we have planned? It's slow because there's no real plot going on anywheres. Unless I missed Terry's post about Karite looking for Taiki, there's not much plot really going on in Sereitei as far as I know. There's not much plot going on in the Mortal World that involves many people. I know nothing about Hueco Mundo, so I won't say for those.
Also, I happen to think Ken and Kina are cute and Kina's way to preoccupied to be finding anything Ken has been doing as odd. She may or may not look at it later and be very confused.
Well. I'm not sure what else is planned, per se, for the kids in this stage.
Callos's last post suggests setup for the Michiko plotline.
Not sure for the rest of the Mortal Cast, though. SWORD has been doing some intro posting, though.
I think Frozen and a couple of others are trying to get Seireitei to the point where Soushi opens the Senkai Gate.
Hueco Mundo has less of an overall plan, at the moment.
For the record, on Hueco Mundo.
I despise scripts and railroads (for very long events, that is) and recommend people to try whatever plots they want. Try to overthrow your espada peers. Try to cause upheaval. Try to incite war.
You areteneight (Missing a tercera and an octava :smallannoyed:) villains. Not ten dragons. Not ten overblown minions. Use your legs. Von Geister gives an order once every new moon and has twenty thousand other minions to throw pies at one another for his amusement, pretend you are playing active, malicious, ambitious and intelligent fiends, if nothing else.
Or goddamnit, I will drone you all, launch a suicidal attack on Soul Society and find a new cast. I, in all likelyhood, wont.
Hmmm... point. What to do with Mei...
Apart from the trip. Should probably do that. :smalltongue:
Yeah, technically we're not "missing" an Octava.
We are missing a Tercera and Novena, though.
...
Uh. Right. Novena. That is what I meant, not Ocatava, we have an active octava. >>
*runs*
We even just did a little plot about that. :smalltongue:
