Re: [NEXUS] OOC VII: Where sniper cats greet you at the entrance
See I consider Psionics magic in terms at least of my characters.
Easiest example. Ayrissa.
She is deathly allergic to magic, if it is cast on her or effecting her. Crazy things happen, and she starts to bleed out internally. A powerful enough spell will kill her instantly.
For her I apply the allergy to Psionics, Technomagic, Non-magic magic, and other stuff like that. I'd also consider an anti-magic field to affect them for example.
Of course that is personal choice, so I guess that's what this all boils down to it's up to the individuals players.
Techno. I call BS on that. Fat and Calories are not a direct conversion to energy. In fact it never gets to the level of pure energy.
With Fat when it is broken down, it allows ADP to become ATP through transfer of electrons. (Been a long time since I did Bio so the terms are all wrong here.) Basically fat breaking down givs ADP, the ability to become ATP, ATP is then used in your body for various tasks because of energy released by breaking a bond. Fat is not converted directly to energy the energy is there all along, it's just being released.

*Sigh* I dislike giving away IC secrets OoC, but here it is: Two of the staff members arewearing rings set to auto-generate portals if the magic portals go dead and stay that way for to long. Riff-raff wears a yellow ring, Sefrine a black ring. As for the magic/not magic debate, Mercury repeatedly tried to stop he rings with anti-magic and it never worked, so I assumed they weren't magic.

Re: [NEXUS] OOC VII: Where sniper cats greet you at the entrance
Hm, there better be repercussions for hospitalizing all these people...
-
Re: [NEXUS] OOC VII: Where sniper cats greet you at the entrance
Like I said, Edgar and Garrett will gladly help in the getting back at Mercury, though Garrett is trying to help Nite.

Hear that? That's the collective sound of 12 vampires shushing you.

Oh, I have one more thing to say about this, something that just popped into my head.
Power rings normally can't do this. Creating portals like that that just anyone can get through? They don't do that. They allow their wearers to navigate black holes and use them like portals, and I have, quite a few times, fudged this a little to making black holes that their wearers can go through, bringing a person or two with them on occasion, but, the thing is, that still requires the users of the rings to actually be there to physically take the people through.
That was probably a run on sentence.
I'm not saying you can't use them like that, I'm just saying that, going by almost everything previously shown, it shouldn't be possible.

De-animate, really. Cause most anti-magic fields suppress magic, not destroy. So once it goes away, he'd get back up. :smallconfused:
At least, I think that's how it's usually explained, or how I remember it being explained. >.>
Also: black holes as portals makes me cry. I'm not even going to bother with that one.

My edit was hidden to heck so I wanted to make it a post of it's own.

You are looking at it at a very macro level. In which case it appears that you convert Molecules directly to energy this isn't true.
You are breaking bonds which releases energy, that was stored in the bond. There is no conversion as the amount of Matter and Energy remains the same.
At a molecular level it's a different story from the macro.
Conversion of molecules to energy is against the laws or physics, as far as they are developed so far. (That I'm aware of.)

Nice catch on that one. I just figured flimsy science would work here, seeing as how a five ton vehicle going in a straight line flipped over sideways when the brake was pulled.

I imagine the driver was surprised and jerked the wheel or some such thing.
-
Re: [NEXUS] OOC VII: Where sniper cats greet you at the entrance
When you basically ended up causing the driver to need to fight the emergency brake, yes, yes it did cause that.
I can't possibly imagine that the unfastened passengers getting jostled around from a sudden slowdown helped the driver very much either.

Those poor unfastened passengers. :smalltongue:

Re: [NEXUS] OOC VII: Where sniper cats greet you at the entrance
Fine, next time Sinosure will go into the hydraulics himself and stop all movement of the wheels and axis.Yes, APCs use hydraulic brakes.
-
Re: [NEXUS] OOC VII: Where sniper cats greet you at the entrance
Sorry, Techno, but Sinosure is guilty as hell.
No one was seriously injured before he pulled the brake, which he did for the sole purpose of keeping Nite from being arrested, when Nite was peacefully cooperating.
But even if you chalk that up to a mistake, since then, he's been terrorizing the poor Evans sisters. They're traumatized and grieving. Neither of them knows who this creature is who keeps badgering them and won't leave them alone, and even when Charity finally recognized him enough to tell him Edijar's condition, he still wouldn't leave them alone. And even followed it up with insults and property damage and implied threats.
Maybe all that's in character for him. But if so, he's a huge jerk.

Re: [NEXUS] OOC VII: Where sniper cats greet you at the entrance
Yes well the Nexus is known to ignore the laws of physics all the time. However that's because it's all magical. :smallwink:
However if we define magic as stuff that defies the laws of physics then I believe we need to be looking at real science not. Young child science. :smallamused:
(Is really passionate about Biology so.... =) )

Re: [NEXUS] OOC VII: Where sniper cats greet you at the entrance
Well duh it's in character. He's an air elemental. He doesn't understand mortals or even just stand them. I'm not really defending the bastard. He's just pissed nobody will let him apologize.
-
Re: [NEXUS] OOC VII: Where sniper cats greet you at the entrance
Okay. Just so you aren't expecting him to be liked. Because right now, he's probably up for the number two hate position in the Nexus, after Mercury.
@^: Apologies accompanied by insults don't usually work very well. :smalltongue:

Where is Rot on this so-called hate list? :smallconfused:
He's done tons of atrocities! He eats people! You can't tell me he didn't even make the top twenty! :smallfrown:

Soooo... stuff happened. Involved explosions?
Guess that sounds like a productive day to me.

Re: [NEXUS] OOC VII: Where sniper cats greet you at the entrance
Hey, what have you done lately, dude? :smalltongue:
Though to be fair, Sinosure is only going to be hated by Mortal Coil and their friends and family. The general city probably won't be all that distressed by it.
Overall, I'd say the current Inside Unpopularity Ratings go as follows:
1. Mercury
2. All vampires
3. Ebon (still plenty of people still mourning those deaths)
4. Calublufiok
5. Reinholdt
Recent atrocities weighted heavily, because that's how human nature works. Though Calublufiok and Reinholdt killed far more people total.
Also, this is based on a total gut feel on my part. I didn't actually conduct a scientific survey of all the thousands of npcs in the city.

Hey man, all he was told is that Adele's father might have been arrested and to get him out of the APC (which SUNLIGHT was getting into!) without killing Edijar. It's not his fault the Empire makes craptastic armor and vehicles.

Mercury is dead. All Vampires are now at #1

Re: [NEXUS] OOC VII: Where sniper cats greet you at the entrance
Charity told Garrett and Adele that he was safe in MC custody. It's not her fault if the message never got to Sinosure. :smalltongue:
At least now he's only crippled for life instead of in jail.
Have I forgotten to post for anyone in all the mayhem?
