New pony avatar, yay! Made it myself partially with a lot of help from Ele in Inkscape.
'Tis my OC Pony, mwahahahaha! Now, to see if I can try and design a Hallowe'en costume for him tomorrow afternoon/night...

Re: Kneenibble's Knack for Knightly Knickers: a Knell for Random Banter #184
I'd gladly trade you the frigging weather we have here for some snow... (although I hear that I might get some in a week or two, which will be nice, if it happens)
At least it finally stopped being stupidly warm. I should not feel like using the AC in October.

Today I went to the shop
I forgot to buy milk
So I went to the other shop
And forgot to buy milk
Being an adult is hard.

Is being an adult an actual change, or do we all just turn into Moonie?:smalltongue:

Lists man, lists! They'll help you remember! The act of writing something down can assist in remembering things.

I count it as from the moment you become responsible for buying enough food to survive

Re: Kneenibble's Knack for Knightly Knickers: a Knell for Random Banter #184
That seems like a decent quantifier, but I'm not sure it works all by itself.

You become an adult when all your dreams are dead and buried.

Sounds like you're the connoisseur. I'm willing to chip in if you decide to ship it.
Hmm... shipping Kneenibble and a bottle of Julmust...

Re: Kneenibble's Knack for Knightly Knickers: a Knell for Random Banter #184
My parents' personal definition of when you become an adult is "When you turn 40." Although, that doesn't really work either, because a lot people still aren't mature at 40.

Does it count if we don't have any dreams, and just want to graduate?

No, the government puts you in another database when you turn 18. (granted, I'm pretty sure this is US only. But you live in the US, so it still works)

Database? What Database? I mean, all we did was stole your remaining childhood and locked it away in a bank vault at the bottom of a hardened bunker... in a foreign country...

...So I just had some pan-fried rye toast in creole-seasoned suet and lard as a tomato sandwich.
Didn't even need mayonnaise because of the whole being pan-fried in animal fat.

So, maybe I misheard her, but one of my neighbours told me to make myself at home, repeatedly, and when she gave me the brief tour so I didn't freak out about there being skeletons in the attic or lose the dog anywhere or what have you, she made a big point of encouraging me to use either her bed or her daughter's bed to sleep over with the dog to keep it comfortable as well as all but telling me to finish off the beer in her fridge and shower over there. :smallconfused:

You can generally get a pretty good grinder to turn beans into turkish coffee for not too much if you are patient or better at looking than I am. Possibly pre-ground normal coffee as well. Bulk cardamom will bring down the price of the cardamom too, especially from more international themed supermarkets from my experience here in the states.
Getting a good hand-grinder that isn't ridiculous and more of a showpiece than a functional part of the kitchen is a bit of a search though, but well worth it. As they're phenomenal for other grinding purposes. There's some other form of grinder that can be used for turkish coffee that isn't a dedicated piece but I forget the term for it.
Good stuff, all around.

The adult version is generally a costume party, usually with alcohol. The whole affair bears echoes of Saturnalia. By Hallowe'en here, usually, there has been a few light snows, and the temperature will be crisply around freezing or lower. It's very pleasant.

Do not worry. We still have the power to turn the computers off if they decide to seek our destruction, whether physically or mentally.
Thank you. *hugs*
The game is so artfully made in its horror, though, that I carried a psychic hangover from the experience each time I played. It got deep inside me.

IRN:
I actually started researching regulations, because why not, and while I suppose the Canadian Border Services Agency may be good on many things,
making user-friendly websites is not one of them. I mean, compare it to
the website of our customs agency, where I without any hesitation found what I was searching for in 5 clicks. I mean, the only thing that distinguishes the Canadian site from any random web page of dubious quality is the distinct lack of ad banners...
Sending foodstuff by mail doesn't seem all too illegal (unlike sending used airplanes by mail). Still, no reference to what forms you need to fill in...
Hahaha, wow. For shame, Canada! I think what you need is at Canada Post's website rather than Border Services.
All our government websites are pretty shabby, to tell you the truth. They all look like they haven't been redesigned since 2004.
*passive-aggressively makes puppy dog eyes at you and Kask* :smalltongue:

Oh, well, I'm sure Turkish Toffee doesn't even require specialized equipment if you set your mind to it.
Also, seriously, if you've never had turkish coffee, give it a whirl.

Re: Kneenibble's Knack for Knightly Knickers: a Knell for Random Banter #184
Yesh, Turkish coffee is a delicious delicious potion! If you make it right, the bubbles on its surface glitter in bright rainbow jewel tones from the coffee oils.
