AAH, this game is suddenly getting into my head hard. I don't like how Zar Peter jumped on Xanmyral before Ebonwolf posted, seemingly at random, but it's just too circumstantial. And the whole 'Was RBS Good or was RBS Bad?' thing feels like it should be so much clearer after receiving not one, but two poems about it. I don't want to lose this game after such a valiant effort.
Oh, Bookboy, don't forget billtodamax is technically a voider and we asked him to target Matthias so we could test his ability.
-
Re: Medieval Werewolf II - Now With 50% Less Seers
Oh yeah, forgot about that.
Even if the Rogue wasn't Medieval I's heir, he would still be the "outcast king". So I think RBS told the truth about his role, and left out that it was a wolf role (kind of ingenious).
-
Re: Medieval Werewolf II - Now With 50% Less Seers
Oh yes, and getting a posting from a narrator that I might have confused outcast king with king helped a bit in determining the real nature of Runeboundshade...
So there is no doubt that he was bad. Or good. Or maybe I should stop.
Really, he's not on villager side. Was! I wanted to say was.

Was he supposed to void me last night? Because I can confirm he did.

Re: Medieval Werewolf II - Now With 50% Less Seers
Xanmyral at deadline.
How many wolf roles remain?

Fewer than five, most likely.
Xanmyral at deadline.
Anyone in particular I should look at tonight?

From the end narration of Medievil I
Quote:
The man stood alone on the hill. He had escaped the castle after his father’s death, taken under the wing of the man who had just killed the priest. He had learned the ways of the thief, and knew when to keep his mouth shut. He hated it. He looked on the castle, and knew, one day soon, he would return. He would have his vengeance against that evil Sir Myral, and his cronies. They would pay. For killing his father.

Tom's inference seems quite likely, but I don't really see how it would work if the Rogue is someone else. Are you saying it could mean "king of the outcasts"?
Anyway, Myral definitely isn't an outcast, so RBS was probably evil. Given this, an evil disguiser is unlikely.

Re: Medieval Werewolf II - Now With 50% Less Seers
Ur'Quan tipped me off, rune was evil.

Can someone remind me why we're believing Sir and Crash so much?

I am not aware that we are trusting Crash at all. Sir Ebonwolf claimed Marauder, with the only counterclaim turning out to be the Rogue, knows who was marked on previous nights, and has generally been fairly helpful in finding wolves.
Also, someone should probably scry bladescape if it hasn't been done yet. His role looks like a very safe claim for a wolf, and he seemed very interested in convincing us that RBS was good.
-
Re: Medieval Werewolf II - Now With 50% Less Seers
Yeah, with regards to why we're trusting Ebonwolf, it's because if he is a wolf, then we are royally screwed anyways.
Crash we aren't really trusting too much. We already had suspicion of Xanmyral which Crash is claiming to have had for a while. And he seems to have been pretty harmless with his power if he is a wolf, essentially following our orders.
I do have to agree that a Town sided beast role seems a bit odd. At least, that's what I'm reading bladescape's ability as being.
-
Re: Medieval Werewolf II - Now With 50% Less Seers
(It's normally suspicious, but not here. It's not really a beast: It doesn't kill the person who killed you; it kills the person of your choice.
-
Re: Medieval Werewolf II - Now With 50% Less Seers
Well we've got enough for Xan when the deadline comes along.
I'm all for scrying bladescape but until he's scried, I feel we should wait until Ebonwolf is dead (hope it doesn't happen). If he's telling the truth, lynching blade gives town another bite of the apple that lynch which basically means we miss a night. It'd be better to leave that off until we don't have a confirmed good scry coming in at night (as Bookboy said, if Ebonwolf is a wolf, we're screwed anyway) so that all we avoid is the NK. If blade is a wolf, having his survival dependant on the most important townie being alive isn't a bad thing.

As I recall, that's how the wolf beast worked in Alchemists III. We got the seer with it, too. But yes, bladescape could well be town; my point was that this roleclaim requires him neither to give results nor to show up for my ability, and it's something we're fairly unwilling to test, so it would be very good for a wolf.
-
Re: Medieval Werewolf II - Now With 50% Less Seers
Last game had a town 'beast' as well. :smallsigh:
Also, I was relying on Zar's revelation about Rune being town as to my consideration of Rune's alignment. I would hardly call it 'desperate to prove Rune town', merely that I personally had more reason to trust Zar over Ebonwolf.

Re: Medieval Werewolf II - Now With 50% Less Seers
Hey bladescape, just out of game for a tic, you in australia as well... Do you mind telling me what state? I'm in NSW. Just interested is all

Re: Medieval Werewolf II - Now With 50% Less Seers
Oh, yeah, I hit Matthias. And Calar was probably the Spirit. If I'm reading my little rhyme right.

Xan at deadline, I suppose.

Re: Medieval Werewolf II - Now With 50% Less Seers
Night 8:
I man was slowly dragged into the castle, before Rauchsten. A guard stood at his back, prodding him with a pike. “Sire, this man has been setting fire to our supplies.”
“Has he, now?”
“And he claims to have connections to the King.”
“Interesting. Does he wear a mask?” He chuckled grimly.
The sack that had been thrown over the man’s head was removed, and he was revealed to look… much like the King, but ten years younger. Standing, he gathered the guards around him, and began to sing…
I used to be the King, the King of this here game.
The best of everything, I had my little fame.
I always killed the greatest town,
My wolf friends never let me down,
And suicide met with the clown,
I never could be found, now I’m ashamed.
We believe you, thousands wouldn’t!
We believe you, every word.
We believe you, thousands couldn’t!
We believe each word we’ve heard!
I used to be the King,
The King?
The King of this here game.
It’s good to be the King!
My praises they would sing,
A tyrant so they’d say.
My dungeons always filled with fools
My guards would have the finest tools
I’d wear the finest pearls and jewels,
You couldn’t call me cruel and live to say!
We believe you, thousands wouldn’t!
We believe you, every word.
We believe you, thousands couldn’t!
We believe each word we’ve heard!
There was a time, when I was young and smart.
There was a time, when I was sly.
There was a time, when I broke Kingly hearts,
But now I’m not so spry.
There was a time,
He wore the finest clothes,
A crown atop his head.
Now I’m going to be lynched,
And soon I will be dead.
Poor Xanmyral, what a schmoozer,
Being lynched…
Poor Xanmyral, what a shame.
Dead…
Poor Xanmyral, what a loser.
Really dead…
Poor Xanmyral, goodbye fame!
“Such violence! How soon they forget that I am the one who won this castle for them! All I wanted to do was to get it back for myself! I am Sir Myral! The first Infiltrator to defeat an entire castle!”
Once he was the King…
“You’ve heard of espionage and slyness? I invented them! Now everyone is sending out infiltrators!”
King of this here game…
“I’ve spent my entire life in the castle! I used to work with Chancellor Cerebel!”
“Ooh!”
“Yes. I taught him everything he knows. I can see he didn’t apply it very well. But last year, he turned to me and said, ‘I trust you. I’m pretty sure Zar Peter was the wolf.’”
“Really?”
“To be fair, that was mostly Super dark. But the principle stands! I was able to fool them back in the day! In my heart, I know that when you’re down and out, and everybody thinks you’re finished, that’s the time to stand up on your two feet, and shout, ‘Hey, look, he’s escaping through the window!’”
“What?! Guards!”
I used to be the King,
The King of this here game.
Again I will be king,
But that won’t be today.
There’ll be servants at my door again
The peasants will adore again
The king he will implore again
With dogs upon the floor again
They’ll kill me no more again
I’ll have that royal chore again
My advisor be a bore again
A window by the shore again
I will never be poor again,
Those ancient vows be swore again,
The castle mi amour again,
My kingdom is in store again!
Xanmyral will never drop,
Xanmyral will never stop!
Xanmyral will be on top again!
A crown is in his sights again,
He’ll kill us all at nights again,
He’ll fill us all with frights again
I’ll be on top again! Hey!
With that, he jumped over the window ledge, running as fast as he could into the forest. Rauchsten pounded one fist on his throne, shaking his head. “Necromancer, who was that man?”
The Necromancer only gazed out the window, dazed. “Bit wrong in the head, Sire. That’s all I can say right the moment.”

Re: Medieval Werewolf II - Now With 50% Less Seers
Night 9:
The mirror man sat there, grinning like an idiot. The wine was getting to him. Slowly but surely, it was dulling his senses. But why not drink? He had done so well last night, and there had been word that he was doing just as well tonight. He pulled a mirror to him, seeing the old man silently stalking with his sword. He took a long drink, then put down his glass and grabbed the bottle. He wiped his lip, then drank straight from the bottle. He chuckled lightly to himself, shaking his head. “Wonder where that poor old sap is going tonight.” He continued to watch the old man come closer in the mirror, then felt a tap on his shoulder.
He trembled slightly, then a hand covered his mouth and a whisper came into his ear. “In your drunkenness, you failed to notice that you were holding not an enchanted mirror, but a regular one. I have been behind you this whole time.” A quick glance at the magic mirror showed the king’s chambers, the silent guard standing watch. “And he has the wrong target. Shame.” The magician began to whimper, his eyes shedding a few tears. The older man shook his head. “I took the liberty of asking about you. Seems you do not have knowledge of offensive magic. Shame. Nothing you can do can stop me. Not any more.” With that, he slid his blade across the man’s throat, watching as he fell into a puddle of wine that had spilt from the dropped bottle. He wiped his hands, wiped his blade, and took an unopened bottle from the magician’s desk.
The mirror man sat there, grinning like an idiot. The wine was getting to him. Slowly but surely, it was dulling his senses…

Re: Medieval Werewolf II - Now With 50% Less Seers
Calar had a role scry, seriously a ton of scrying roles this game, the title is a lie. Any suggestions on how to use it?
-
Re: Medieval Werewolf II - Now With 50% Less Seers
So they killed Venetian Mask to limit my power. He really was the obvious choice, I should have seen that coming. =/
So we need to do some serious snooping. There can't be that many wolves left, and whoever there is must be lying to us. We need to act quick to figure out who it is and get them.
Ebonwolf, you were voided last night or you're voided today? Did you get any scry info at all?
Everyone, at this point, who do you think the remaining wolves are? Who are you suspicious of?
-
Re: Medieval Werewolf II - Now With 50% Less Seers
Here's my list of non-OP role claims, updated (red = dead, purple = vouched for by a confirmed role)
Istari: Could be wolf, not likely.
&we: Been a little quiet.
PirateMonk: Don't know, was a little suspicious. (trusted by Istari)
Venetian Mask: Trusted (Gnomish/Grue Bait)
Bookboy: Trusted (Gnomish)
Xanmyral: Quiet.
Tom the Mime: Don't know.
billtodamax: no vouchers
Matthias2207: Trusted (no vouchers)
Saposhiente: Trusted (Pengi :smalltongue:)
The Crash Man: Active enough to be a wolf trying to look like a villager.
