I believe Cho's base hitbox is quite big tho.

Re: League of Legends XXIV: Today's Noob Strat, Tomorrow's New Meta
I'm not sure what feast level the hitbox is set at, but I know it isn't six stacks and it probably isn't one.

Re: League of Legends XXIV: Today's Noob Strat, Tomorrow's New Meta
Still, that sounds frustrating, both for enemies and cho himself.
Cho: "I TOTALLY WAS IN THE WAY OF THAT CAITLYN ULT WTF"
Ezreal against Cho: "THAT MYSTIC SHOT TOTALLY HIT YOU WTF"
etc.

Interesting. Also, Cho is a very viable bottom lane in that comp, I forgot about him. He ought to be able to just sustain through everything.
Also, mathing out my assertions about MR blues in previous post. Let's pretend we're facing Annie, since she's the most faceroll targeted caster.
First off, when facing Annie, you need to respect her burst. I haven't sometimes, and then she kills me. Positioning far enough away to get XP (and farm if you have long ranged skillshots) is important, and punishing her if she walks in front of her creeps is as well. However, we're pretending she's shooting us in the face with her spells.
So, let's say Annie maxes Disintegrate, ignoring Molten Shield. She deals 85/165/205/255/295/495+35/s, +0.7/1.45/1.45/1.45/1.45/2.15+0.2/s of her AP per level. With scaling (not flat?) AP everything, she gets 5/10/15/20/25/30 AP, for 3.5/14.5/21.75/29/36.25/64.5+6/s bonus damage from her bonus AP. As a percentage of her base damage, this bonus AP amounts to 4/8.8/10.6/11.3/12.3/13% increase in damage. If you spring for flat MR blues, you immediately cut that damage from 80% (30 MR with Archaic Knowledge ~= 25 MR, 1/1.25 = 80%) to 73% (43 MR with Archaic Knowledge ~= 36.5 MR, 1/1.365= 73.2%), which means in her best case, where you're eating Tibbers to the face, she's dealing around 3% more damage. For her entire runepage. You got cheap MR blues, and deal more damage back with Mpen reds.
Additionally, MR blues are GREAT once she gets Sorc Shoes. Defenses are more valuable when you don't have much of them, so that extra 13 MR will actually translate to ~13% reduced damage.
Personally, I would suspect you might be playing the matchup wrong. Who are you facing, as which character?

Re: League of Legends XXIV: Today's Noob Strat, Tomorrow's New Meta
It's honestly not even noticable. I play a lot of skillshot characters (I have bought several characters on a whim because they have skillshots) and I never knew it.
(Do remember when talking about Cho's size at a number of stacks that it changes depending on rank of the skill as well as number of stacks)

I just wish i could have one of these obnoxious cheese people when I pick a super long range laner, like gragas or lux. It only seems to happen to me when I have someone who can't just farm or harass from a whole screen away, like singed or rammus.
EDIT: Speaking of rammus i wish to try jungling him, should I be able to use generic jungler masteries?
Armor yellows and go to town. I run my Urgot page on him right now (Apen, armor, mp5, Apen--with smidges of AD and AS), and it works fine.

Re: League of Legends XXIV: Today's Noob Strat, Tomorrow's New Meta
Cho'Gath is a great tank not only because of his two AoE CC abilities, but his ability to walk on top of his carry and make him untargetable. :smallwink:

Re: League of Legends XXIV: Today's Noob Strat, Tomorrow's New Meta
Well, I just finished my first 5v5 as Taric.
Near the beginning, we were being utterly curbstomped, and for a while I started letting my build go all over the place(as I tend to do in hopeless games).
Then we started winning teamfights, getting more push an just all around getting it more even.

Re: League of Legends XXIV: Today's Noob Strat, Tomorrow's New Meta
Just played APmumu in Dominion. It seems to work pretty well. Rylai+morello gives you a ton of damage. I kited an Irelia under my turret, then Q'ed back into her for the kill. Who says Amumu has no burst? :smallcool:

Re: League of Legends XXIV: Today's Noob Strat, Tomorrow's New Meta
Judging by screenshots posted in this thread compared to my own experience, there are more standard teamcomps at sub-30 level than at my level.

Might be your ELO as well. Around where I am, people will often fill metagame roles, and even if you can't do direct counterpicks, Cait, Graves, Corki, and maybe Vayne with support should trash Zilean/Akali, though they might need to swap from bottom. Similarly, Cass isn't an unusual mid pick, but if you get Sivir (or people who don't understand how to lane against Trist) you'll have a problem. Admittedly, 2v1 champions have fallen out of favor because of the popularity of junglers, which means jungle support for a lane like that is critical. Early and often ganks are the only real way to save most melee top laners in 2v1.

And I was pretty sure it was in order of application. Huh. Time to put BC on Renekton and test.

I have always been under the impression it was % then flat, reduction then penetration. I seem to be mistaken in that.
Also, I have decided to start trying AD carries, to get away from only playing Cho and Nasus. I like Trist and Urgot so far, and have done well with both.

Strange. At the least the penetration order matches up with what I understand, since it is commonly stated that getting a Last Whisper clashes with flat penetration.

Did you build them one at a time, buy all the Catalysts first or all the Blasting Wands first?

Re: League of Legends XXIV: Today's Noob Strat, Tomorrow's New Meta
I'm curious, what would be the best character to stack Rods of Ages? I can see a Kog'maw that can use his ult pretty much endlessly. Is there anybody else who has steadily increasing mana costs?

Swain and his Ult.

Ryze with five fully stacked Rods and one fully fed Archangel has the highest mana possible in the game, but that's really just a gimmick, since it would take like 40 minute's worth of farm for two people.

I have always thought Singed would be fun if you stacked them on him, but I have yet to try it.
-
Re: League of Legends XXIV: Today's Noob Strat, Tomorrow's New Meta
Singed stacking Rod of Ages becomes horrifically bulky with hideously toxic farts, though it's not the most practical build in most games. Maybe if you're stomping face, because generally Singed can't afford to invest in too much AP when he really wants to be an immovable, unkillable brick.

Re: League of Legends XXIV: Today's Noob Strat, Tomorrow's New Meta
Well, I've bought a few of the Harrowing runes, but right now, I'm at about 3000 IP and wondering whether I should
1. buy the flat health harrowing quints
2. save up another couple games and buy a 3150 (thinking Udyr or Gangplank)
3. buy a couple more 1350s (probably Garen, malphite, and Janna, in no particular order)
For reference, the only other 1350s I don't own are Tristana (haven't bothered with the facebook thing), Sion, fiddle, Eve, and Zilean.
Also, the only champions I haven't had the chance to play are Olaf, Evelynn, and Graves. Still waiting for Riot to give us the chance to try them free :smallannoyed:

Graves will be up in a week or two.
Evelynn has been free to play once, ever, in LoL's history. I wouldn't hold your breath for another go.

Re: League of Legends XXIV: Today's Noob Strat, Tomorrow's New Meta
Get Udyr or GP, definitely. They're both great.
