Careless Village WW
Narrators: Count Dingdong, Rules Lawyer #1
A small, quiet, peaceful town on the edge of civilization. Nothing happens; peace reigns supreme. But one night... something occurs. A murder, ensuing chaos, written about in news. Travelers come far and wide to marvel, study, participate. Killings happen daily, newcomers fill their spots. More and more people die in this bloodbath. When and how will it end? How many will die or live to tell the tale? How many innocents dead, how many guilty? A story yet unwritten but soon to be told...
Rules:
Spoiler
THIS IS A NO PM, BLIND GAME. Also, no sharing personal/mason QTs. You are free to make role claims, but it could be disadvantageous. Players will revive in this game, potentially on another team.If you create QTs between any number of players, link narrators to it. Would suggest having QTs b/w no more than 2/3 players b/c of revival problems.
There are two groups in this game and multiple teams. First group is "Original Townsfolk." They are first 15 players. Basic roles, simple rules. Consists of Original Villagers and Original Wolves. Second group is "Clueless Newcomers." They start arriving day 2 and onward. Wide range of roles. Consists of New Villagers, New Wolves, and Bystanders. Teams are villagers, wolves, bystanders (neutral).
Win conditions:
SpoilerEach role has a win condition. Varies from role to role. By this, players can win multiple times. Also, evey 5 days alive = 1 win. Overall winner of game is player who won most times. Some conditions are revealed from outset:
Original Villagers: Outlast all Original Wolves.
Original Wolves: Outlast all Original Villagers.
Every Villager: Last to the end of the game and secure Village win (defeat all wolves, including those in reserve).
Every Wolf: Last to the end of the game and secure Wolf win (have majority vote, taking into account unclaimed spots).
Every Bystander: Last to the end of the game, regardless of winner.
Every Player: Every 5 days alive as a charater = 1 extra win.
Individuals: ??? (varies from person to person)
The game will generally last through all 50 spots. However, if all wolves die before then, then the game will end.
Every day, all players vote to lynch a player in red. Erase old votes bycrossing them out. Need 25% of players to lynch as well as majority of votes cast. If vote for No Lynch, result in a tie, or no player with 25% or more votes, Executioner decides who dies (if alive). Every night, players with night kills decide to kill players. Wolves may pass suggestions to Wolf night killer. It's not revealed whether kill fails b/c hits wolf or baned, even to killer. Days are 48 hours, nights 24.
Recruitment:
SpoilerAfter the first 15 players sign up, game begins. Recruitment doesn't end until all 50 spots are taken up. Players join the day after they sign up, as the spot they choose. They are considered "Clueless Newcomers" for their first day and night and have no role. In addition, these Clueless Newcomers are protected from the lynch and night kill that night. They learn their roles on the following day. Clueless Newcomers still participate in lynch vote.
Players who die can rejoin after two game days have passed since their death. When they rejoin, follow same rules as new recruits (first Clueless Newcomer, then learn role).
There are a total of 50 spots available, 15 of which are Original roles. Remaining 35 are open to new recruits and reviving players. Roles are revealed upon lynch but not for night kills.
"Original" Roles:
Spoiler
Original Villagers:
SpoilerMasons x3 - These players know who each other are. Because of their camaraderie, they trust and protect each other. ...for first day/night, that is... One is founder of the Secret Society.
Baner - Has high trust in friends and out to prove them innocent. Doesn't trust others so takes matters into own hands. Protects one player/night.
Seer - Knows slightly more than he lets on. Intelligence network brings him news about this and other murders and happenings. Scries one player as Village/Wolf/Neutral every night.
Fool - Believes to be Seer. Part of the Seer's intelligence network. Takes info he hears as true, despite being at bottom of the rung and unskilled. Scries one player as Village/Wolf/Neutral every night. Unreliable scry.
Executioner - Thinks he knows who's guilty. If no one else can make a verdict, he'll make one himself. If no decision (vote for No Lynch, tie, not enough votes), he decides who dies. If you die, the power passes to another Original Villager.
Commoners x3 - Low right now but rising up in the world. As game goes on, they gain power roles.
Original Wolves:
SpoilerAlpha - Leader of the gang and original murderer. Owner of the wolves' night kill. Other wolves can make suggestions of kill by posting so in their own QTs (I'll transfer them over). Suggestions are made night of or day before it would apply. Alpha scries as Villager. Night kill cannot kill wolves. If you die, night kill passes to another Wolf.
Voider - Paranoid and has suspicions that someone is on their trail. Stakes out/trails these suspects and stops them from doing anything strange. Stops one player each night from using their power. Does not affect wolves.
Devil - High up in the Seer's intelligence network. Takes information he gains from position to help Alpha plan murders. Scries one player as Village/Wolf/Neutral every night. If the player is an Original Villager, he learns the role as well. When sending suggestion, you may not reveal your scries.
Disguiser - Another person in the Seer's extensive network. Feeds false information to the higher ups. Disguises one player besides self each night as Village/Wolf/Neutral.
Beast - The gang's berserker, he isn't going down without a fight. When lynched, one of the Villagers who helped lynch him dies.
Newcomer Roles:
These vary greatly and are not publicly revealed. Common and not-so-common roles alike, on all three teams.
Normal rules for connected players (e.g. masons and wolves) are overpowered in a game with revival. So modifications have been made. They are as follows.
Masons:
SpoilerA part of a secret circle, they don't reveal everyone. Creator of society starts off knowing the other two. Each of the others only know creator. As more masons join the game, are added to the ends of chain. Thus, all masons are connected, but each mason knows 1 or 2 others. In a sort of telephone fashion, information is passed on and potentially adjusted. Up to masons to make this work well. When a mason dies, two people previously in contact with the dead mason come into contact.
Suggestions:
SpoilerEach night, wolves give suggestions for who to night kill in their QT. As the suggestions go around, other wolves try to take their own names out of the equation. While not a perfect system, a few wolf names get taken out when suggestions passed finally to night killer(s). And sometimes non-Wolf names get taken out as well. While pretty good measure, some wolves get left, some village gets taken out. Also, not every newcomer wolf gives suggestions. Those players don't get this benefit.
These adjustments should make meta-gaming less of a problem. Root of the matter is that it's hard to stop. So I'm relying on you all to minimize it. That's it. Done what I can, and the rest is up to you. Make this as fair of a game as possible. Hopefully this all works out.
Helgraf's interference in effect. Multiple scries on same targe = No Scry for scries on that target. Voiding also gives No Scry. And maybe other things as well.
Almost forgot: autolynching. If 3 days w/o voting, you're autolynched. Can still rejoin after 2 days if spots available. If known in advance, narrators may be more lenient.
