I'm not privy to any of the details, but I can tell you that Espadri doesn't need a reason to kill. I'd be very surprized if Thond ordered the destruction of this town."

Who is Thond? And of course you Vampires are going to get persecuted if you need our blood to just heal from normal injuries.
