Have never heard it used in English though so I can not vouch for it's appropriateness. As for the story itself, it made me smile. I think Hoity is still sufficiently in character his disregard for status does fit in with the "respected artist" archetype. I remember one british guy using "bint" as an insult, but the idea to use more creative pejoratives is more appealing. I need to come up with a few more... obvious enough to be instantly recognisable, but cultured enough to be almost silly.
