If you are a US native and you need to be British to enjoy British absurdist humor, how come you are a Terry Pratchett fan?

Probably because I don't belong in my country of birth.

A teacher once told me I was "to British" in the way I handled things. He then proceeded to call me Moriarty for the better part of a semester, and, if I complained about anything, would put on a fake British accent and say "Yurda, yurda yurda...the [reference cut 'cause it would otherwise be political in nature], and now all I have is tea and crumpets."
