Waterstrider can smell gnolls alright, thanks to the wind he haven't been able to smell them until now, but they are near.

Outside

"Good, if you see other of our people. Tell good news. They went to hunt for sacrifice while waiting." The gnoll leader says with a big grin as it then turns around to order the rest of his group to move in their strange language.
