The C4 blows a hole in the wall, just as the junk golems finish forming and begin to move towards Reinholdt. He can probably spot the key hanging from one of the golems' neck, but he doesn't particularly need it anymore.

Reinholdt flies through the hole and heads towards the pie factory. He believes his initial impressions were correct, and he just confused numbers for words. Clever puzzle, being all tricksy like that.
