Sandy, since he's no mind-reader, just saw her move to hug him, then stop and smile at him. He smiled back, before a thought occurred to him: "Aw, ponyfeathers, ah missed some syrup, didn't ah?" He craned his neck and spun around as he tried to spot the nonexistent stain.
