The new version is certainly more descriptive, but it doesn't fix the basic problem. The main issue here is that Carver's illusions can act too freely without his intervention. He (yet again, IMHO) shouldn't be able to just wish one instantly into existence and have it realistically follow a complex route which he can't see and hasn't measured. With that sort of slipshot effort, the thing should be running through walls and turning corners which haven't arrived yet. I have no problem with him instantly creating realistic illusions that are under his direct control; It's just that I think the ones which he can't oversee should be much more sloppy.
