"I ruined your phone? I am terribly sorry, can I make it up to you?"

He replies optimistically, it seems he isn't at all taken aback by her anger.

The cat, meanwhile, replies to Kin from atop Elsbeth's head.

"Meow-mew!"

That should explain it.
