Elagune, question on pronunciation... for whatever reason, it looked vaguely Italian to me, so I wondered: How is his name pronounced to you?

Nes-SHO, Nes-SHE-o, Nes-KE-oh, or something different?

Also, Nomen looks like a pseudonym. Maybe sophers are only allowed to be male, and Nomen is actually a woman... no men, after all! Nonsense aside, I had one suggestion for a pun for later in the story:

A lovely little pastry shop that makes pastries that mimic the appearance of thaumacards: "The Filosopher."

Filo dough is a very thin (and rather difficult to work with, as it dries and tears quickly) pastry dough used in the preparation of baklava. Each thaumacard of a different discipline has a different flavor: pyrosopher "cards" get cinnamon, cryosopher "cards" get mint, and so on.

It seems JUST like something some entrepreneurial baker would do.
