Not really. And yes, I'm aware that Torchlight was made by the Diablo team. But the basic control set up and the gameplay I encountered reminded me much more of Torchlight than the earlier Diablo games (Except all the running away. That's very much D1)

Given that Torchlight ripped off borrowed from Diablo itself, any leveraging Diablo would have done would be... from itself.

The one clear innovation I can think of by Torchlight was the pet that vendors your loot for you.
