If you're choosing an effect from the provided list, you should therefore get what you asked for without trouble.You may try to use a wish to produce greater effects than these, but doing so is dangerous. (The wish may pervert your intent into a literal but undesirable fulfillment or only a partial fulfillment.)
Side note: this assumes you are the caster... if you are gaining a wish from a reluctant provider, the actual caster has every right to twist your words as much as they can get away with, if he/she/it wants to.
