Yeah, they involved hit dice that weren't the undead standard and a ridiculously hard saving throw to survive the fingering. Basically it was just a glass cannon to screw over players with a rot you only avoid by luck and the low hit points as "balance".

Personally I don't really care that it had lower than undead hit points but he could've just given it some form of flaw feat or ability called fragile physique or something that lowers all hit dice to a maximum of d6 or whatever it was. Not that I'm an expert on the system at all.
