Sam & Max are very much a one-time playthrough kind of game. There are some split choices, but in the end, the solution is generally the same. Replaying it to hear the same jokes again isn't very appealing, either.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is an extremely strong sequel to an extremely good game. You can really play it however you want: an infiltrator who spills no blood, a hacker who will charge around turning the security against his foes, a silent assassin who can pick enemies off but avoids big fights, or the classic guns-and-grenades Adam Jensen.

It's a great prequel with a lot of replay value through how you approach the game in terms of playstyle, and then in terms of dialogue. Some powers will let you get through dialogue with interesting outcomes, like an Augment that produces pheromones to influence opinions of others. Should you choose to use said pheromones on a certain (friendly) character, they take notice of it, and threaten to beat you up.
