So, I made a new character. I've decided, with some reluctance, that Myojin has been through enough, and deserves some retirement. So, here's Dosan. He's (hopefully) a seated in the Internal Security Division, with electric-based abilities. Feel free to be critical, correct me, etc.

Age: 300s (Looks early 20s)
Gender: Male
Height: 6 ft.
Weight: 140

Dosan is decently tall, and slight, but muscular. His slate blue hair is cut to a military-style flat top. He wears the standard shinigami uniform. Dosan's face is chiseled, almost gaunt, but not quite. His most prominent feature are his violet eyes, which look serious, as if he is constantly in deep thought.

Dosan is usually a very quiet man, and thinks for a while before he speaks. This can make him seem nervous, or shy. If he's somehow been convinced to drink, however, his other side emerges. Within a drink or two, Dosan turns from his usual quiet self to a freer, louder man. Dosan actually has a high tolerance for alcohol and it takes him a while to show the standard effects.

Dosan was born in late 1600s Japan. His father was a simple rice farmer, but Dosan wanted more out of life. He wanted, more than anything, to be a great sword smith. But he also hoped to be unique. Everyone made swords out of the same materials, so Dosan decided that he would travel the country looking for different, better materials to make swords out of. He tested swords made of many different materials, gaining much skill with them in the process. One day, Dosan was out on a hilltop testing out a new copper sword prototype. In the rain. After winning a match with his sparring partner, Dosan held the sword up high, and was struck by lightning, stopping his heart. Dosan was buried on his father's property with the first sword he ever made, one his father helped him hew from pure, white wood.

After his death, Dosan almost immediately joined the ranks of the Shinigami, his fighting prowess gaining him swift entry. While he has not made much of a name for himself, he is fairly well known within his division for his ability to incapacitate opponents with one blow.

Dosan, while modest, is actually very good at zanjutsu. He is also moderately good at Hoho and Hakuda.

Name: Arashi, The Sky Asunder

Appearance: Arashi's sealed form appears to be a katana with a handle and matching sheath made of naturally white wood. When drawn, however, it's clearer that the entire sword is made of naturally white, unblemished wood.

Shikai:
Release Command: "Charge, Arashi!"

Appearance: Arashi glows with electric blue light, and blue sparks dance along the blade.

Abilities: Anyone struck by Arashi temporarily loses muscle control in the area struck, similar to the effects of a high powered taser.

Bankai: (undiscovered)
Release Command: "Tear the Sky, Arashi!"

Appearance: Arashi turns into a glowing, electric blue lightning bolt three feet long.

Abilities: Dosan can choose to fight with Arashi as if it was still a sword, or throw it, and have it return to him after it hits something. Upon contact with any part of an opponent’s body, the victim is knocked unconscious.
