The shot hit the boar at the top of its right hindleg. Squealing in sudden pain, it limped and stumbled for a moment as it recovered from the impact - then, snorting and grunting, it took off into the trees. It clearly wasn't going to hang about waiting for another shot.

You do 6 wounds. The boar was 5 squares from the base of the tree; it runs another 21, putting it out of the normal range of your gun.
It's possible to fire at Extreme Range, but it carries a -30% penalty (including an aim) which I think nixes your chance to hit now that you've lost the eye - and that's before you apply the penalty for firing at a target that Ran. Plus, by the time you've reloaded and aimed it'll be another 42 squares into the woods and probably out of sight.
