Redundant veins, extra-durable organs, even not feeling pain doesn't help when your opponent simply beats you within an inch of your life.

That kind of punishment takes it's toll. In this case, Icarus simply doesn't react fast enough. Either he doesn't notice until it's too late or can't move fast enough to pull away as her arm turns to tendrils and wraps around his, ripping the artic cannon from his grasp. To his credit, he doesn't give her the satisfaction of hearing him scream, but disarmed, disarmed, lower body frozen solid and caught in a stronger opponent's grip, he won't be doing much else either.

Day continues firing, aiming at the tendrils now, hoping that a good shot might be able to dislodge them and give Icarus a fighting chance. But at this point, I'm forced to doubt this plan of action.

Can of root beer, check. Intarwebz, check.

Let's do this thang.

Icarus may be pleasantly surprised to discover Clarissa's tendrils attempting to switch the machine freezing him into a petrified statue on to full blast to end his suffering by stamping out the last flicker of life in his body off. The tendrils return to Clarissa's side, 9mm bullets piercing and grazing them but failing to drawing any retaliation out of Clarissa whatsoever. With a brief movement of her lips, Clarissa's tendrils erupt in spiraling geysers of flame as she begins to leisurely thaw herself out of her icy cocoon.

"Th-th-th-that's all, folks! We're d-done here! Cold! Cold!"

Sounds like Clarissa is of the opinion that the game is over, likely because Icarus and Daedalus have proven their worth to her and she has some crazy, twisted sense of honor. It is equally likely that she is simply freezing and prioritizes melting her icy overcoat over beating up Icarus.
