The presence of the enormous dog intrigues them some. The bear that didn't take the ration still isn't eating, but the other bear tries the ration, and then follows the first bear to inspect Alfie. The two of them wobble over to him and begin to sniff and make less abrasive sounds. Alfie proceeds to attempt to sniff their hindquarters.

Alfie drops a paw on one of them to make them hold still. The cub tumbles over and bats at Alfie with a fluffy paw. The two spend a moment to observe each other, then the cub sneezes and yawns.
