I was of the opinion that Union Jack was merely Jack being possessed by Cal, but I can't explain the billiard eyes. I thought Jack might have been trying to stop himself with the eyestab combo, but then it just played into what Cal wanted, but it might have just been the first step of the transformation. And carapacians are a lot like cherubs physically, (excepting the ugliness and creepy heads) so it's not too much of a stretch for this body to become Lord English somewhere along the way.
