    I know that with me, pushing effectively turns any lingering "maybe" into a solid "NO!". But does it work with anyone? Is there any point to doing it? Or is it purely the defense of a bruised ego?
    Less defense and more automatic reaction that some people have which they have to use training and behavior-modification to get rid of, I'd say, based upon my observational and confirmation bias.
