Actually depends where his loyalties lie.

If hes a morally repugnant bastard, then he would prefer to save his reality be destroying this one.

Is he really morally repugnant if he wants to save his own world at the expense of another world? Especially when from his perspective his own world is objectively better?

If you had the opportunity to save a bunch of great people, and all it would cost is the lives of a bunch of terrible people would you do it? I personally wouldn't, but I can see the opposing argument.
