I found the world's longest-running laboratory experiment and recipient of the IgNobel Prize, the Pitch Drop Experiment:

Ooh... The Pitch Drop Experiment... It is so cool, but so not very much so at the same time... You know what would really suck? Going to see it, and then finding out that the pitch dropped the moment you turned your back.
