I think Green is preliminary plotting, yellow is designing/prototyping, red is making the finished product.

Red is initial concept, yellow is planning, green is production.

And as we can see, a year and a half on the Giant is apparently no closer to figuring out what he's going to do with Julio Scoundrel.
