If Shadow Dragon is anything to go by, then FE1 has it worse if you can believe that. There's several characters where their only line is their death quote, and even that's a generic "Arrrrg, I'm dead" sort of thing. (Bord and Cord stand out in my mind)

Which is a shame, because there are several potentially interesting characters that get nothing but an recruitment line and a death quote.
