On the bright side I suppose, it is only 10$ more than I'd intended to transfer

It does go both ways, though. I was once given an extra ~$7 by a 3rd party store selling steam credit vouchers. I informed them that this was more than I'd paid for, but they just shrugged and let me keep the extra because it was non-refundable.
